1964 Volkswagen Beetle/bug/convertible/cabriolet California Classic on 2040-cars
Emeryville, California, United States
I had been chasing this old man in his VW around town for years. When I finally bought this car, the house painters had got it! We travelled to a rough part of town and made the deal with a very nice fellow. My partner drove this car home on the freeway with no second thoughts. The man had replaced the carburator and alternator and this is the best running buggy we have ever had. It's still a project, a project you can drive around on the freeway is better than one you can only push around your garage. We are cruising this one around as we right this ad and it's a wonderful sunny day in Northern California. The buggy can pop out of first gear and it's not that hard to keep it in gear when you decelerate, that's when the problem happens. It used to be red on red and the current color I call Aquafresh after the toothpaste maker. There is some body filler and dents and some stains on the paint job. Overall it's a very cool car. Are you ready to have a fun summer. Surf boards not included. Please check out our feedback. We try to honor every deal and treat everyone fairly. This car is sold as is, with no refunds full or partial.

Autoblog Podcast #327:
Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe Concept is an aspirational Jetta
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Meet the Volkswagen baby CC. Okay, that's not really it's name (VW calls it the New Midsize Coupe Concept), but this sleek, four-door coupe draws more than a little inspiration from the CC while riding on VW's MQB platform.
It's a looker, we think, and is an eye-pleasing departure from the bland styling of the current Jetta. The sleeker front end is complemented by a wider body overall (it's wider than a Passat), while the more sporting roofline and the sharp rear fascia gives the New Midsize Coupe a decidedly sporting character. LED head- and taillights add a bit more personality to this already stylish design.
Thanks to its 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, it should get along rather sportingly, as well. The run to 62 miles per hour takes just 6.5 seconds thanks to the 217 horsepower on offer. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is also fitted, and contributes to an estimated 37 miles per gallon.
UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]
Thu, 20 Dec 2012There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.
