I hate to sell this car but the time has come. I've kept it over the past few years with the plans of a future vintage race car or V8 swap but seems I'll never have the time. The car is remarkably solid; frame, sills (rockers), trunk floor etc... The doors open and close as they should and things line up well. (the door isn't shut all the way in the pic and the trunk lid is misaligned as it's off of another car. ) It's too nice to part out so please don't ask.

It appears that someone at one point was making this car a vintage racer. The interior has been removed except for the seats and all through holes have had aluminum covers made and riveted in place. The front end has been rebuilt and the car has stainless steel exhaust ( not that stainless exhaust makes it a race car, just saying it has it). I had it running for a short time to check the engine out and it ran good (idling only as it needs carb work). The keys has been misplaced over the years so the ignition was bypassed. I'm quite sure it will need the carbs cleaned again in order to run properly. The car isn't currently drivable as the hydraulics will need attention, that is; if you'd if you'd like the car to stop, I don't recommend using a tree, at least not in my yard. You should, however; be able to get it drivable without too much effort.

The floors are good with the exception of one small area. The drivers front floor has a small area about 1"wide X 5" long towards the front that should be repaired from a leaky master cylinder but that's pretty much it. The pass side has some surface oxidization. The trunk lid had some bubbling around the edge (it's off another car) and there is a small spot in the usual places next to the top on the sides but the rest is solid. The undersides of the doors and back of the sills look great too. The car was repainted red at some point with the bumper left on which is why you see a different color in those areas. It looks like rust but it's not. Some of the paint has come off of the center of the hood and has light oxidation but it's solid.

All in all it's a great starting point for a restoration or the perfect platform for a vintage racer or restomod. The car is actually in the perfect state to do anything. It's solid enough to warrant the time and effort for a full restoration yet you'll have carte blanche if you choose to build a race car or restomod without the guilt of molesting a perfect example. BECAUSE OF THE CARS CONDITION AND UNKNOWN RACE HISTORY IT IS BEING SOLS AS A PARTS/RACE CAR. You may put it back on the road if you wish ( I don't see any reason why someone wouldn't want to), however;  because of EBay's listing policy and legal liabilities, it's being SOLD AS A PARTS/RACE CAR.

DO NOT CLICK "BUY IT NOW"! Contact me first to make any and all arrangements, otherwise the transaction will be cancelled! That's not meant to be harsh, I just want everyone to be on the same page before anyone agrees to do anything. This holds especially true if you are a local buyer. I'd much rather do  a cash face-to-face transaction anyway.

Please note, NO LOWBALLERS !!! These things regularly bring $4000 for a non running rust buckets with no title. You and I already know that just what the overdrive transmission sells for.... I don't want any wheeler-dealers showing up here thinking you are going to steal it because they are not.

I hate to put it that way but there is no easy way to say it. I know of a few guys who regularly do that and it's not going to happen in this case. If you've read this far you know what this car is worth and what they normally bring. The car is already priced to sell. I'm not going to give any BS and I expect the same courtesy. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours.

You may bring whomever you wish to inspect it, just make sure you bring enough cash to buy it too ;) I prefer cash in a face-to-face transaction. No electronic transfers will be excepted.  I do have the title for the car and like most old cars in this category, it has changed hands a few times without the paperwork being updated. This shouldn't be a problem but it's the sole responsibility of the buyer to completely handle every aspect of transfer however they wish including any fees. Please feel free to ask any questions first. Sold as-is where-is, however; I will be more than happy to assist in loading or shipping as much as I possibly can.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
