Up for auction is my very, very nice 1974 Triumph TR-6 ( non-overdrive ) with only 65,638 miles on the odometer ( I'm also selling my 1974 Maple Brown TR-6 this week ). I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding.

Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car as I know it to be after doing much research and that the previous owner stated it was all original ( he owned the car for almost 30 years ). The production date is Jan. 1974, commission number is CF 17275 U, engine number is CF 16930 UE,  body tag  #1 is T 16040 CF and body tag #2 is 16805 CF. The car is still in its original color of Pimento Red ( paint code #72 ) and interior trim color code #63 . I have ordered the British Heritage Certificate and I hope it will be here before auctions end ( if not I will mail it to the new owner ). http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/

I have ordered the British Heritage Certificate and it should be here before auctions end and if it does I'll post a copy to the auction. As most of you know, having a Heritage Certificate not only certifies that this is a true numbers matching car it sets it apart from all the other TR-6's out there and greatly increases the cars value. The certificate will also show that the car is still in its original and correct paint color as from the factory.

Mechanicals: The car runs and drives great. The engine bay is highly original right down to the emissions system and the original Telcate oil filter. The car was serviced last week. The service included new distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs, ignition wires, oil change, oil filter, air filters, radiator cap, inline fuel filter, oil pressure sending unit and new oil pan gasket. Earlier this year the car had a valve adjustment, new alternator installed, new fan belt and a new battery installed. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke. The engine is "drum tight " with no signs of any fluid drips anywhere under the car at this time. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises. The car has a very strong clutch and brake pedal ( hand brake works as well ).

Electrical's:  Many hours and dollars where spent on going through this area: headlights ( high & low beam ) work , wipers work, horn works, front & rear turn signals work, front & rear running lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work, license plate lights work, dash gauge lights work,  blower fan works and the period AM / FM push button radio works.

Gauges: All gauges are correct and original  "Smith" brand and are in working order at this time.

Interior:   Is in nice condition and I'll let the photos speak for its condition.

Exterior: The car looks great and sits nicely on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded TR-6 "Squatting " issues. Look at how well the body, hood, trunk and doors fit.  As seen all body panels, hood, trunk, doors and wheel arches are laser straight.  The tires where just replaced last week and new chrome trim rings and TR-6 wheel cap decals installed. All glass is original  Triplex glass in very nice condition.

Soft Top: The soft top is in serviceable condition but the windows are starting to show some clouding . The car does come with a near new top cover. I'll post photos of the car with the top up later this week.

Underbody: This area looks unbelievably original and in very, very good condition and I find no evidence of rust,  rust repairs or accident / damage repairs. Detailed underbody, floor pan, rocker panels and dog leg photos are available upon request.

Trunk: The truck is rock solid and does have a spare wheel.

Offers: Yes I'm open to offers on the car. If making an offer they need to be over the current bid price as should be respectful of the cars heritage, condition and very low miles.

Shipping:   If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at:  http://www.ableautotransport.com/

Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try  Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes (  http://www.schumachercargo.com/  ).

I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees  are expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
