Listed is a clean, '76 TR6 Roadster.  The French Blue paint still has a nice sheen to it, with no signs of rust, or bubbling, blistering paint.  Although it does have a few nicks, chips, and imperfections that can be expected of a 40 year old British sports car.  Car was originally purchased by me to use for vintage auto racing because of the solid drivetrain and good bones and lack of rot.  After checking the car over, I decided it was just too nice to tear down for use as a vintage track car. My plan then was to just hang onto it and enjoy it for spirited drives on the twisty turny's from March through Oct. and then put it into hibernation to avoid east coast salt roads.  I've only had the car for about 6 months and have enjoyed in immensely, however financial reasons are forcing me to sell one of my toys.  I also have a '72 Datsun 240Z that I have invested nearly $40K into, which makes it mine forever.

I originally purchased the car from Vintage Wheels, LLC in Waynesboro, VA for $7100,  which was really a bargain as Hagerty valuates cars in lesser condition @ just around $9K.  The engine has great oil pressure and burns no oil...yes, burns no oil.  Since I took ownership I have invested and have receipts for over $5900 in upgrades and repairs and I'm probably leaving a few things out.  It was a nice looking,  driver quality car when I received it.  I had a British car specialist completely overhaul the suspension... tie rod ends, new KYB shocks, with rear conversion kit, competition springs 450/390 lb/in. rate springs(lowering the car about 3/4"), all rubber bushings were replaced with urethane.  A custom made exhaust from manifold back to muffler was added, all new differential seals(inner AND outer,  including pinion), and diff. bushings were replaced.  Starter solenoid and charging system were replaced including new 800 Cold Crank Amps battery and terminal wiring as well as an alternator(rebuilt).  Carbs leaked a little fuel and were gone over replacing all O-rings and other worn rubber parts(although not completely rebuilt).   A custom made Boss Frog FIA compliant roll bar was added(bolted in) as well as a black air dam....the stance is AWESOME as is the handling...best handling TR6 I've driven.  There was no sound system in the car so I added a Sony ipod ready CD AM/FM deck, with 6X9 Sony Xplode speakers mounted in boxes that sit behind the seats between the roll bar...sounds GREAT.  I got my hands on a nearly new set of seats and swapped them in, replacing the old tired ones that came with the car.  You are welcome to the old seats and hardware...they get a few bucks on ebay.  While the stereo was being installed and the seats were out, the floors were wire-brushed of any loose rust, painted with POR15, then coated with truck bed liner and finally covered in Dynamat to lessen road noise and heat.  The passenger side seat belt system was completely replaced and the driver gets a FIA compliant 4 point harness.  The bumpers were slightly pitted and instead of having them redipped, or completely replaced, I had them coarse sanded and  coated with Rhino liner...looks great against the black air dam and roll bar.

The top is in good condition with one very repairable hole and CRYSTAL CLEAR windows, but frankly, it's never been up because my vintage cars never drive in rain....EVER.  It comes with a boot and tonneau as well.  It looks awesome in photo's, but remember that, cars look better in photo's.  I'm not trying to tell you it's a rough car that looks nice, but it's not a concourse TR6 worth $20-24K you are going to steal for half price.  It is a very nice driving 40 year old classic British roadster that turns heads and drives nice.  Transmission shift up beautifully, but 40 year old worn, brass sychros just aren't as good as the never where...any good at all! Ha!  I double clutch going down and no worries.  If you shift FAST going up, sometimes you will feel a "catch", but if you drive old British cars, you know that.  The tranny whines a little in 3rd and 4th, but my mechanic that has spent over 40 years working on nothing but British cars said it is nothing to worry about and if I were to do anything down the road, he would dig up an over-drive unit and could install it parts and labor for $1000.  If you are local to MD, I'll give you his info...he refers to that sound when cruising country roads as "patina".  He gets it.  Tires are brand new.  All in all, this is a really neat little classic car for not a lot of money based on the recent market of these cars.  If you have any questions, shoot me a message and I'll be glad to call you right back.  If you need to have it shipped, I'll help with that logistically, but it will be on your dime.  We are approaching THE BEST time of year to own a British roadster...Autumn.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
