This sale/auction is for a very original survivor type TR6. This is a '76 model and the last year for the TR6. It sold new to the original owner in Tacoma, WA at Hawkins Pontiac-Triumph dealership and comes with much original paperwork included but not limited to; window sticker/invoice, Passport to Service booklet, original owner's manual and other original paperwork as shown in the picture plus a stack of service records, service log and lots of receipts from Moss Motors, The Roadster Factory etc., etc. The car was delivered new with the rare options of overdrive transmission & factory steel hardtop. The paint is the original factory Mimosa yellow and has great appearance. All three owners have kept the car serviced and garaged as witnessed by it's excellent rust-free condition, never abused or driven in winters. It has not even been rained on under my over 10 year ownership! The original owner in Washington state parted with the car in 1997 and it moved to Highlands Ranch, CO to it's new owner where it also received proper service, was garage kept and passed the strict State of Colorado emissions test with flying colors! This car even retains it's 39 year old factory original safety-striped soft top and it's in near perfect condition-still soft & supple with a minimum amount of shrinking and very clear windows (no yellowing)! I purchased the car in the spring of 2004 and have used it sparingly in nice weather mainly to shows and a local parade. I have kept it covered & garaged with meticulous service as needed. I'm a purist at heart and the only non-original items are Petronix electronic ignition, Koni front shocks, Sony MP3 CD player and Autobahn speakers cleverly concealed in the kick panels (no holes cut). I have the original points ignition, factory shocks and British Leyland AM/FM radio if new owner desires. Other work done under my ownership is new radiator hoses & clamps (original green style), new spark plug wires (original Lucas green type), plugs, cap, rotor, rebuilt original Stromberg carbs, new accelerator rod bushes, new thermostat, radiator cap & shroud, valves adjusted, carbs balanced, new bonnet fastener &  rubber, new brake hoses (all 4), rear wheel cylinders, front brake pads, new clutch slave cylinder, all hydraulic fluid flushed with new Castrol LMA brake fluid, trans & rear end grease replaced with new Castrol 80/90, overdrive filter cleaned, new battery(just last week), new door panels, new carpet, factory original type leather shift knob, new chrome bullet door mirror, new door window fuzzy & rubber strips, wool moquette door weatherstrip, new trunk liner kit etc., etc., if it needed something it got it! The car starts easy, runs, handles & drives great, trans & overdrive shift perfectly and brakes work good! The Michelin redlines we're replaced at 83,000 miles (2nd owner) and are in very good condition with no dry rot or cracking. Also I forgot a picture of the original spare tire & wheel (like new), top boot & tonneau covers and jack all present & near perfect original condition! The original Mimosa yellow paint is by no means perfect, but is very nice! It has it's share of nicks & dings but nothing by no means that would warrant painting and it has excellent shine/gloss with no thin spots or buffer marks. The hardtop I was told when I spoke with the original owner was painted at one time due to a garage incident with his daughter's bicycle. The original dealer repainted it and it's a perfect match! The hardtop does have a spot on the right inside wing area about 2" in diameter where the repaint has peeled, but it is hardly noticeable because the factory yellow paint under it. I took photos of it but it does not show! The hardtop headliner also has two splits about 2" long each as shown in the one picture. I have much$$$$$invested in this car and expected to keep it many more years, but I'm now forced to part with it due to several unfortunate circumstances as of late. I may drop my reserve on the last day of the auction and I realize I probably won't cover the investment I have in this car-Good Luck and thanks for looking/bidding. Please email thru ebay with any questions or concerns. ThankYou!

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
