1976 Triumph TR-6.  A very good driver-condition car with lots of new parts.  This is a very solid driver that starts the first time, runs smooth, cool, and reliably.  The interior has been changed from brown to black, and the following work was done: new upper and lower dash pads; new door, side, and rear panels; new carpet; new glovebox insert; new retractable seatbelts; all new door and side window weatherstripping.  I elected to remove the radio/shifter console to give myself extra legroom.  It is included with the car with the original radio, and it has brand new side panels as well should you decide to put it back in.  While the interior was out, I replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bushing, and resurfaced the flywheel.  The clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and all hydraulic lines were replaced.  I welded in all new metal floor pans and installed new ABS plastic transmission and driveshaft tunnels.  The suspension has been extensively updated with new urethane bushings on all front and rear control arms and the four differential mounts.  There's new ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack bellows, and sway bar bushings and end links.  The rear brake cylinders have been replaced with new ones, and all the flexible brake lines have been upgraded to stainless steel braided lines front and back.  A rear sway bar has been added to the car that really makes it handle like a sports car should!  Under the hood (bonnet!) there is a new radiator with an aluminum shroud.  The original smog equipment has been removed from under the hood, but it all comes with the car. All the radiator and heater hoses are new, and are secured with new original style hose clamps.  There is also a new bulkhead heater hose coupler with a new rubber gasket.  There are new door mirrors, and new headlight trim rings.  The rest of the chrome on the car is serviceable, but showing its age.  The trunk is in good shape - the original cardboard panels are all there but starting to show their age, but there's no rust and the trunk lid seal is new.   The top is in very good condition with clear windows, and no rips or tears.  It operates smoothly, and the latches are in good working order.  The paint is a decent respray.  The body is in very nice condition with no dents or dings.  I purchased the car three years ago at the Carlisle Import show.  The car had a Kentucky title, and the owner had no other information other than he believed the car has a Southern history.  I am selling it so I can finish up the build on my road race car.   So please bid often and generously so I can build a fast car!  I will require a $1000 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close.  Final payment is due 7 days after auction close in certified funds or cash.  I will be as helpful as I can to assist with shipping.  The car is located in Gettysburg, PA and is for sale locally.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
