1975 TR6  CF37333U  Frame On Restoration…

Drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and frame:
The car has really been gone through inch by inch.  Front and rear suspension have been rebuilt ( tie rods, ball joints, front shocks, sway bark links, sway bar bushings, steering rack bushings, steering rack gaiters).  All suspension parts were painted and detailed at the same time.    Brakes have been rebuilt and filled with silicone fluid  calipers, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, pdwa, rotors turned new hoses.  Frame has been painted with Rust Encapsulator.  Trailing arm brackets on the frame have been replaced.  Differential mounts have been reinforced.  (The previous owner replaced the trailing arm mount sections on the frame, done correctly.)    Engine was rebuilt by the previous owner but I don't have any paperwork.  I detailed the engine and engine compartment, rebuilt the carbs, put in brass accelerator shaft bushings, flushed and cleaned the radiator, all new water hoses,  etched and sealed the gas tank.   New water pump installed, electronic ignition added.  Distributor rebuilt.  Exhaust system has new intermediate pipes.  Muffler is good.  Engine tuned and carbs balanced.

Interior:  Seat frames repaired and painted, seats refoamed and new seat covers.  New carpet installed with padding and a layer of insulating foam beneath that.  (that helps with noise and heat)  Complete interior panel kit, dash refinished, visors.  New window seals.   Wheel wells covered with new vinyl.  Plastic new set of Triumph rubber mats.  Gauges cleaned.  New 3 point seat belts.  Stainless threshold covers.  New seals for windows, doors, etc.

Body:  The car was painted when I got it. The car glows. The sheet metal is all steel.  New floor pan on passenger side.  Driver's side was solid with no rust.  Both are now sealed in Rust Encapsulator.  Door gaps are good.   Chromeshines nicely.  The glass is good.

Electrical:.   I've been through the wiring harness and made repairs.  Currently all lights are working including interior.   Even the door lights and glovebox light. Horns are a replacement set.  I bypassed the hazard switch to get the blinkers to operate correctly.

Tires:  Coker redlines (2000 and 2002).  The spare will be one of the orginal Michelin red lines.  New stainless trim rings.

Convertible Top:Correct black with reflective striping.   It does have a black boot and tonneau (original ok condition)

Transmission:  Currently has a 4 speed transmission, shifts nicely.  The car is being offered with a separate J-Type overdrive, difficult to find item.

Please feel free to contact me with questions, I really would encourage you to stop by and see the car in person.  I'm in the western Chicago suburbs, please contact to come an inspect the car--one of the nicest TR6s you'll see.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
