1974 Triumph TR-6 offered with NO RESERVE.  This car is originally from Arizona, and then later purchased by owners in Milwaukee WI and Chicago, IL, near where I currently live. It was not driven during the harsh winters here, and the condition bears this out, as it is virtually rust-free and in great condition.

I currently place the value of this car in its current condition to be approximately $18,000.00 United States Dollars, however since the Chicago winter is now setting in, it can be purchased for a bargain in the 'off season' although it can be driven year round if the new owner so chooses to do so.

This 39-year old car is an excellent example of a "survivor" that can be driven daily, and is an exceptionally nice looking car. This TR-6 is in well-cared for condition. The current odometer reading (62,433), does not appear to be other than original mileage based on the overall condition of the car, but I can't guarantee this. The car has been consistently maintained mechanically over the years according to the records/receipts provided with the car, and it proves to be a very good running and driving TR6.

Recent maintenance includes:

New trunk carpeting and vinyl/wood gas tank covering partition with light
New vinyl convertible top
New door, top and window seals
New heater valve.
New master cylinder
New rear brake lines (from master to wheels).
Refurbished radiator.
New hoses and fan belt.
Brand new set of 205/70/R15 Michelin Symmetry tires. These tires have less than 200 miles on them.

Performance: The car starts easily and drives very well. It feels very solid and stable on the road. The car has plenty of power and revs well through the RPM range. The brakes perform very well. The steering is tight feeling.

All the dashboard gauges and dashboard lights work well. The interior lights (door) do not work . The heater and fan work perfectly. The interior controls all work fine. The emergency/parking brake works very well. The aftermarket AM/FM stereo/mono radio works well.

The car has an older repaint. There are a few little marks and scratches here and there but these imperfections certainly do not detract significantly from the general outstanding appearance of the car. New floor carpeting added where the original carpet was worn/tattered (remaining original carpet is serviceable, but could stand some attention).  Under the hood the paintwork on the firewall and on the inner fenders and engine bay is really clean and nice. The doors open and close without a hitch. The chrome on both bumpers is in good condition. The windshield is very clean and clear. The majority of the car is rust-free.  The drivers side rear fender peak has been repaired in the past and has a small amount of surface rust.

The car has not been driven in the rain or snow in more than 10 years according to the previous owner, and has only been driven in nice weather sparingly during that period. The frame is solid. The drivers side floor pan has a slight amount of rust and has been patched. The passenger side floor is solid.

The engine performs well and feels strong, and emits no visible emissions, and does not consume oil. The radiator has no leaks and handles the normal running of the engine. The engine has a very minor oil leak. The transmission is the original 4-speed. Gear changes are easy, positive and solid and the car does not jump out of any gears. The clutch works very well. The differential doesn't make any unusual noises. The car runs best after it has been running with the choke on for a couple of minutes until the engine is warm.

The seats have two small tears one approximately 1 and the other 4 but both have been repaired and are not obvious. The door panels and rear panel are all complete and in great shape with no rips or tears or wear marks. The wooden dash is original and in very good shape.

Included with the car:

An original vinyl soft top boot cover.
One ignition key, one glove box key and two keys each for trunk and doors.
An original vinyl tonneau cover.
A copy of Bentley's workshop repair manual for the TR6.
The original jack and a new lug wrench.
Front and back 1974 Illinois license plates (not valid, but period correct)
All maintenance receipts in my possession (upon request)

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
