1972 Triumph Tr6 Original Survivor 66k Miles Great Driver on 2040-cars
Huntington, New York, United States
1972 Triumph TR6 – 66,242 Original
miles, Original Survivor and Great Driver Overall: Up for sale
is my 1972 Triumph TR6 original survivor.
This car still retains its original factory Sepia Brown paint and Saddle
interior. The TR6 has 66,242 original miles and runs and drives excellent. The
Car was built in June of 1972 and is considered an early to mid-production car (VIN
# CC83102U). Unique about these cars is the high-back seats, dash layout with
larger Odometer and RPM gauge, black hub caps and TR6 emblem on rear fender. Of
course it’s a thin bumper car without the ugly rubber over-riders of the later
cars. These mid production cars also seem
to rev freer than the later cars because they have much less emission
restrictions. This car is a really fun car to drive that can be enjoyed as a
daily dependable driver. I have all service and parts invoices from the past
owners covering 22 years. Body: This car
still wears its original factory paint after 42 years in existence. It’s a true
survivor that is honest and unmodified and unrestored. The body and frame are
in excellent condition free of any major rust. The frame has some superficial
surface rust but no holes anywhere. The floors, fenders, trunk floor, frame, rocker
panels and doors are all solid and rust free and accident free. The paint is in reasonably good condition with
a nice shine. There are some minor dings and imperfections that can be sorted
out with some touchup paint but I left everything original. Mechanical: Engine runs
fantastic, starts right up and idles at 800 rpm and sounds terrific. Revs are smooth
and strong up to 6500rpm’s. Head was
rebuilt (see service and parts invoices) and clutch and throw-out bearing
replaced. Clutch feels perfectly aligned and it’s easy to shift. The 4 spd gear
box shifts perfectly with no strange noises or oil leaks. Car pulls strong in
all four gears and runs like a top at 80 mph all day long. All ID tags
and engine bay stickers are original to the car and in their proper place.
Engine also runs cool. This TR6 can
be used literally as a daily driver or for a weekend pleasure cruise. Major
tune up was done last year along with valve adjustment and new, plugs, wires,
dist cap, points, condenser and rotor. New alternator was installed along with
a new battery, belts and hoses. Car has new tires and has retains its original
steel pressed wheels, black hub caps and factory chrome trim rings.
Closing: The car is
sold “AS IS” with no expressed or implied warrantee or guarantees. I am not a
broker or a dealer so this is a private sale that is final. It is sold “WHERE
IS” in Huntington, New York and if transported will be the cost of the buyer. I
will load the car on the transport and see that all is safe. I have set a
reasonable BUY IT NOW price of $18.5K. TR6’s
survivors are getting harder to find with reasonably low mileage. They are getting
sought after by collectors and car enthusiasts and prices have been rising fast.
See July edition of Hemming’s Sports and Exotic Car magazine for TR6 on front
page. It’s a great article on the “Brutish Brit”. If you are a
serious buyer and have any questions please call or text me at 631-339-3349 or
contact me through E-Bay. I will gladly take any detailed photos and send them
to you. I will sell to Europe/worldwide and to anyone who appreciates this car
for what it is. I have the right to end this auction early since I will
advertise on other venues. I will request a $500 deposit within 48 hours and
the balance shortly thereafter and will hold the car for you until payment and
transportation has been made. Thanks for your interest. Best of luck and Bid
with confidence. Thanks Dave. |

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
