A rare find indeed is this fully factory optioned Red TR6 discovered in Northern Georgia. It was my plan to do a show restoration, but I have accumulated too many projects, so here it sits still covered & stored where pictured at the restoration shop, where I had it delivered a year ago. Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to put it up for sale.

One like this one is VERY hard to find...the perfect combination of red with black, and a very solid, straight, 72 model, which many believe to be the best year as it has the improvements over the earlier ones yet has the performance that disappeared from the 73 year on. And, in true form as it was designed, without the big rubber bumper over-riders. Further, this one is fully optioned with factory overdrive (noted by the "O" in the VIN), that also came with 72 spoke wire wheels, and even a factory steel hardtop! (A $2200 option then!).

I am selling it as a restoration candidate, since I am not that knowledgeable about the car, although I believe with little work it could be driven while restoring if you prefer. It had the carbs rebuilt just prior to my purchase, but have not had the shop start it or drive it. I expect you'll want to check out and go through the typical things before getting it on the road that these TR's generally need after sitting for a few years, such as the brake & clutch systems.

Take a good look at the great lines on the car! The body panels are excellent! I have photographed all the common areas on the body and wheel wells where rust forms per Triumph buyer guides, and you'll see there is very little rust. I have noted only a small spot on the driver rocker, and the floorboard at driver's feet is rusted and will need a patch or front floor (simple non-structural sheetmetal repair, repros available), and I noted a few tiny pinholes at the trunk lid lip. There are a few spots where paint has cracked and chipped from age. I checked the frame and it is excellent and solid everywhere including trailing arm attachment points. After all, this IS a true Southern car, so rust free in all the important areas. One small ding at the driver door handle, and a tiny ding at the driver side front fender next to the headlight where paint chipped and there is a bit of surface rust only. There is one indentation on the bottom of each rocker panel hard to see in photos. Front glass has a spot where a rock hit it, but windshields are also available inexpensively. Note it still has the factory British Leyland badges on the front fenders. Interior is original and is still untouched right out of the barn! Trunk is solid, with original jack and there is a nice tonneau cover and top boot too!

Just the options alone, if sold separately, are worth over half the cost of the car!

As a BUY NOW BONUS, I will give you a brand new Burled wood dash that is stunning, which costs about $350!! Only if you hit the buy it now! Pictures on request.

The mileage on the odometer is 80K and may be actual and the car indicates it, but I cannot verify. It is sold without warranty of any kind, and I encourage questions and viewings as you deem necessary. Please only bid if serious, as all sales are final. I have described the car accurately to the best of my knowledge, which is limited on this car. Title is a clear GA title signed by the previous owner. I will provide a separate bill of sale. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and I will assist in meeting your carrier if needed.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
