Up for sale is my 1971 Triumph TR6, 4 speed convertible.  I've owned the car for a few years now and love it, but simply haven't had time to drive it so it's got to go!  The car runs and drives well.  There are no mechanical problems with the car.  The only item I've had to repair was to replace the clutch master cylinder, and the work was done professionally.  Outside of simpl oil changes, I've just driven the car.  I purchased the car in Connecticut and it is currently registered in Connecticut.

The odometer reads 72,200 miles, and I can't say whether those are the original miles or not, but I suspect they are.  The convertible top is brand new, and was installed professionally two years ago.  The top is an aftermarket top and not an historically correct top...but why drive with the top up anyway!  The paint on the car seems good, there are some minor scratches typical of an older paint job.  I don't know if the car was originally red, but there is some overspray on the interior that makes it clear the car was re-painted at some point.  The seats are in good condition with no rips or holes.

As far as issues, there are very few.  The gas gauge doesn't work, it didn't when I purchased it and I didn't bother to address it.  I simply fill it with gas and when the trip odometer hits 250 miles I fill it again.  Also, while cosmetic, the wood dash could use refinishing or replacement.  The only damage to the body of the car is a small dent on the bottom of the passenger side door.  You should be able to see it in one of the outdoor pictures of the car.

Overall I would say this is a great looking and fun driving TR6.  I feel I've set a low reserve for the car (certainly much lower than what I paid for the car) and I hope it finds a good home with someone who will drive it and enjoy it.  As usual, a deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours of winning the auction and full payment before the car will ship if being shipped.  Of course, if shipping, the buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and coordination.

The car is advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold.  I will NOT end the auction if the reserve is met and there are less than 48 hours to auction end simply to be fair to any bidders.

Good luck, and please email with any questions.  I am NOT a hard core Triumph guy so forgive me if I can't answer your question.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
