1969 Triumph Tr6 on 2040-cars
Year:1969
Mileage:76000
Location:
Norman, Oklahoma, United States
This 1969 TR-6 is a great project. It can start on a gas bottle, but I haven't bothered to drop the tank and put on a fuel pump yet. It is a project, but it is a solid car. Minimal rust. It needs some body work on the left front as you can see from the pictures. At one point it was in some kind of mishap and it is a little bent up. Mostly, everything is there. I have both seats and a lot of chrome pieces inside and out. I have the air cleaner and various other parts in the trunk. It still maintains its original motor (as far as I can tell) and its components. The floors and trunk on this car are mostly solid. The drive shaft has been removed but it is in the trunk. The car rolls but the tires don't hold air for very long. This is a great start for someone who wants to do a full restoration or it would also make a great parts car. The hood seems straight along with the passenger door and the trunk lid as well as one fender. The car has all its gauges in and the top frame. These older TR6's are getting harder to find, especially ones that have as minimal rust as this one. Bid confidently! Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
