1979 triumph spitfire convertable, good running ,nice driving ,4 speed trans with the highly desirable overdrive transmission, this engine was over hauled 2 years ago, - re-ring , rod and main bearings , and a valve job , ( not by me - by the previous owner and his grand son ) he has provided me with the parts installed list and several reciepts.this car shows 43 ,997 miles on the odometer , and on the title as of 2000. IT was and has been parked snce then , ( previous date of sale ) as it was being worked on by the previous owner as a project for his grand son , who has lost interest and wants a dirt bike or off road truck. I bought it out of who knows why , I have plenty of projects , we are cleaning it up, may get ambitous and give it a paint job if it does not sell. no rust any where I can find , bought new in san birnardino ca , lived its life in the high deert near BARSTOW , the top bows are missing , as is the original carpet , ( house carpet seems to be in place now ). brakes work well, as does the clutch. fresh rebuilt carb- ( by me ) works well now , needs some wireing clean up, several are loose and lying stray.good glass , 45 % tread on older tires.seat as seen in the pics are good, door panals apeer to be after market or personal re - doo's . doors shut well and solid, front end seems to be good , does need a couple of u- joints as of now - - I intend t try to replace them a s a p - but no gaurantees. local pick up - sold as is , no warranty made or implied,it does need a new paint job. remember this is an O.D . TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS LISTED ALSO LOCALLY .

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
