Toyota: Tundra on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
The time has come to sell my beloved Tundra. Awesome truck that has over 10k in upgrades. Low miles! Low Reserve! Newer Toyo Open Country tires that have less than 5k on them (see pics). Fuel black deep lip rims. Dvd in the headrest. Rare black leather seats that are in great condition black on black. Custom running boards. 6 inch custom Rough Country lift. Blue LED interior lighting which adds a nice touch. 6 disc cd changer. Lifted! Drive anywhere! Sharp reliable truck ready to hit the road. This is a steal of a deal for a truck like this. I am moving further away from my work and wont need a big truck to drive the long drive. Truck was very well taken care of. My wife still drives this so the miles will go up some. There are no known issues with this truck other than stated here. Body is in good shape with only a few small dings here and there and light scratches that is common on black paint. Paint is still nice and shiny with the hood showing some clear coat flatning from the sun but not too bad. Also the front right turn signal for some reason is out again. I have changed it a few times already but after a wile it goes out again. I believe its a loose connection. Only other thing I can think of negative is sometimes when breaking hard it pulls to the side occasionally. Never taken off road. I have quads for off roading. Very reliable Truck. This is a lot of truck for my reserve price. Bid early. This truck has the perfect stance. In my opinion it has the perfect size lift and wheel size , distance between the wheel wells etc that you dont see often on lifted trucks. A lot of time, money and research went into getting this truck the way she sits now. I cant tell you how many compliments I have received on this truck. No leaks Shifts smooth Ice Cold A/C Hot Heater Runs and drives great

2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Tue, 29 Jan 2013Giving Vanilla A Good Name
"Vanilla." Taken in modern context, that's not a compliment, but it should be. Vanilla actually has exotic origins, and as spices go, only saffron is more costly. Despite the realities, calling something "vanilla" is not whistling in admiration. The Toyota Camry has been called "vanilla" countless times since its debut, but both the car and the bean have something up their sleeves.
Scoff all you want, but vanilla is the most popular ice cream flavor, and there is no mainstream sedan that outsells the Camry. Apparently, vanilla has an underlying tinge of filthy lucre. We didn't feel rich, exactly, wheeling around in the Camry Hybrid, but we came away impressed, nonetheless.
Toyota develops new pre-collision system with steering assist
Sun, 13 Oct 2013A number of automakers are working on developing fully autonomous cars, but it looks like the groundwork for such technologies will likely show up first as semi-autonomous systems for both safety and convenience. Following recent announcements from Nissan and Ford in this area, Toyota has now released information for some of its advanced semi-autonomous technologies that could be offered in production cars over the next few years.
On the safety front, Toyota's new pre-collision system with pedestrian-avoidance steering assist is aimed at protecting the folks who aren't in the car. This system combines visual and audible alerts with automatic brake assist and automatic steering. If warnings don't get the driver to slow down, the brake assist kicks in if a collision is very likely, but if that is still not able to avoid the impending collision (and if there is enough room to do so), the car can automatically steer itself around the pedestrian. This sounds most beneficial for last-second dangers such as a person accidently stepping out into the road in front of a car. Toyota hopes to have this technology available to customers by 2015.
The Japanese automaker is also testing a suite of technologies called Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA). The key part of this is a new adaptive cruise control system that uses vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications rather than a radar-based system. This cooperative-adaptive cruise control allows vehicles to communicate their acceleration and deceleration data with other cars, which Toyota says this helps to improve fuel efficiency and traffic flow. Also a part of AHDA is the Lane Trace Control feature, which sounds like a next-gen lane keep assist. This system uses cameras, radar and a computer to keep the vehicle in a "smooth driving line" by being able to change steering angle, engine torque and braking force. Toyota says this technology could be in place by the "mid-2010s."
Toyota Harrier gets a whale of a facelift [w/video]
Thu, 21 Nov 2013Historically, the Toyota Harrier has been a doppelgänger for North America's Lexus RX - at some points, it was little more than a badge-swap and a few options away, at least aesthetically. That appears to be changing with this just-revealed new generation at the Tokyo Motor Show.
That's because this two-row, five-seat Toyota is in possession of a bold new look, dominated by a jutting, baleen-like grille edged in chrome, along with new headlamps and fascia. The greenhouse has likewise been revamped and gotten more pointed at the rump, which has new taillights, a resurfaced tailgate and a faux rear diffuser. Were it to be ported over to North American Lexus dealers intact, the Harrier's look would be jarring in light of the brand's spindle-grille-based design language, so we suspect that if the RX gets any of these updates (it was just refreshed for 2013), it will strike out on a different path visually.
Unlike the US RX, the new Harrier will rely on smaller-displacement four-cylinder engines, namely a 2.0-liter paired with a continuously variable transmission or a 2.5-liter four backed up by an electric motor. We'd like to see a smaller-displacement option for the US RX (it presently runs with 3.5-liter V6 engines in both gas-only and hybrid guise), but suspect it won't arrive until the next all-new model.
