Everything is up to date on this supra. There are no leaks, no vibrations, no smoking. Transmission shifts perfectly with no grinds and clutch has smooth engagement. Compression test was done last week and all cylinders are between 160-163 psi, motor is very healthy. Air conditioning and heat work excellent. All electronics work like factory with no issues. Interior is great shape and is in better shape than would be expected for a 17 year old car. Leather is in great shape with no tears or scratches. The paint on the car is in excellent condition. The front of the car was resprayed to get rid of rock chips and a few scratches. At the same time the engine bay was completely resprayed and clear coated to look as clean as the outside of the car. This supra has all of the original paint besides what I had resprayed. All body panels still retain the original VIN stickers and has a 100 percent clean carfax with no accidents. There are only a few small nicks on the entire car. If you've been looking for an original 1998 quicksilver TT 6 speed you know how much they go for even in questionable condition. This is an original quicksilver supra that has converted to a complete Twin Turbo 6 speed with the majority of the parts being brand new Toyota. I recommend any serious buyers to come inspect the supra in person to see how clean it is. I will gladly do a compression test in front of serious buyers and put the car on the lift to do a complete inspection of the entire car. Toyota recounts past Supra glories
Mon, 29 Jul 2013It could just be a slow start to the news week around the Toyota offices, but its UK blog has posted a brief history on its legendary Supra sports car. Read into however you'd like, but there has been plenty of speculation as to the return of the Supra nameplate in recent years (including last month from incoming Toyota chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada).
Built from April 1978 through July 2002, Toyota's sports coupe made quite a name for itself as both the Celica Supra (shown above) and the Supra, and the blog post charts many of the changes and highlights through the years. Rod Millen to face Monster Tajima in Electric Division of Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The 91st running of the Pike's Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled to begin on June 30. Like last year's event, the 12.42 mile course - fully paved these days - starts at 9,390 feet elevation and doesn't stop climbing until it reaches an impressive 14,110 feet (the air is so thin up there that the FAA requires pilots to use oxygen at that altitude).
There will be an assortment of internal combustion machines racing to the summit, entries from France, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Sweden, Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Belgium, but all eyes will be on the electric showdown between Rod Millen and Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, from Japan. 61-year-old Millen is a familiar name to Toyota racing fans, and he will be driving the Toyota TMG EV P002 (it won the Electric title last year), while Tajima will be again piloting the Monster Sport E-Runner (which was forced out of the field last year after a fire broke out).
Other entrants include Rhys Millen driving a 2013 Hyundai PM58OT and Paul Dallenbach, who will be driving Millen's Hyundai Genesis Coupe (it set the all-time speed mark last year).
Toyota Matrix not long for this world?
Thu, 18 Apr 2013According to a report from AutoGuide, Toyota doesn't have plans to replace the aging Matrix hatchback in the United States after this year. If true, the timing coincides with the replacement for the Corolla, on which the Matrix is based, with that car slated to get its first complete redesign since 2006 (2008 in the US market).
We'd love to tell you how many Matrix models were sold by Toyota in the United States last year, but the automaker chooses to bundle Matrix sales with Corolla sales, so we have no idea. That said, we have to assume sales of the hatchback don't contribute much overall to the total number of Corolla-based machines.
We're also unsure if Toyota will choose to exit the youth-oriented compact hatchback market entirely, or if the automaker will rely instead on its hybrid Prius line and Scion models like the xB and xD.
