For sale is a 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo, 6-speed manual transmission, 110,045 miles. The car features a sports roof
top (targa), with black exterior paint and tan leather interior. The car is and has always been 100% stock, never
modded or tracked. This is a clean title, clean carfax car ready to be signed over to the new owner.
The car was purchased in 1995 and has only had two owners (myself included). It has been garaged 95% of the time
and averaged less than 5,000 miles driven annually. The professional maintenance of the car has been regular for
the entire time we've owned it. This car has never had any major mechanical issues and has always been taken care
of, it's been a part of the family for over 20 years. The car was just smogged (this month) for registration and
had no issues passing.
A new battery was recently installed and the oil has also been recently changed. Though the car is in excellent
condition, it's 23 years old and has a few minor cosmetic blemishes: the front dashboard is cracked (as seen in the
pictures), FM radio frequency cuts in and out, (AM frequency works perfectly), and the exterior paint is in great
condition except for the hood and roof of the car where minor sun damage has etched the clear coat, but this is
only visible when up close to the vehicle. The backseat has a tear near the top stitching, as you can see in the
picture. There is a small surface rust spot on the trunk lid, with no water leaks.
It's been a really fun, amazing ride (we always get compliments/questions when we drive it!) and we are only
selling because we no longer have space in our garage. Will be a fantastic purchase for the next buyer.

Toyota U2 urban utility concept inspired by Maker Faire [w/video]

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

There's a quiet revolution happening in US cities. People want to mix an urban lifestyle with a connection to nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. The result of all of this is folks pursuing things as varied as urban farming, home brewing and the whole maker movement. Toyota thinks it has the perfect concept for these intrepid customers with its new Urban Utility concept that it is debuting during a panel discussion hosted by Make: magazine in San Francisco and debuting publicly on September 20 at the World Maker Faire in New York City.
The Urban Utility concept can best be described as a modern take on the old panel van. Designers from Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California interviewed Maker Faire participants to find out what its users want from a novel vehicle like this. "Toyota saw an opportunity for a new approach to an urban vehicle based on increasing re-urbanization of our cities and urban drivers' desire for flexibility, fun and maneuverability," said Kevin Hunter president of Calty.
On the outside, the Urban Utility doesn't really scream for attention. It's meant to meet users "desire for greater utility but a smaller vehicle footprint," according to the release, but the shape is still very much a van. The designers do try to lend it some panache with the LED headlights up front and checker board side panels. It's really more about utility than looks, though, because the roof can roll back for taller loads, the rear glass retracts into the tailgate, and the whole rear can fold down as a ramp to load stuff more easily into the cabin. Toyota isn't talking about a powertrain yet but claims that the underbody is also especially durable for a long life in the big city.

Aging Prius, dropping gas prices putting hurt on hybrid, EV sales

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

"As Prius represents by far the biggest chunk of the hybrid marketplace, where Prius goes, the segment goes," - Ed Kim, Autopacific
Fuel prices in the US have been tumbling for the last several weeks, with the average price of a gallon of gas at $3.120 as of October 20, according to the US Energy Information Administration. That price reflects a serious recent drop from $3.299 on October 6. Reports have even suggested that those low numbers might not change for a little while, perhaps as long as years. While drivers certainly love paying less at the pump, the change may be hurting the market for more fuel-efficient models, including the Toyota Prius.

Heavily updated 2015 Toyota Camry to bow in New York

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Looks like the new, "more emotional" Toyota Camry designer Kevin Hunter talked about back in January is going to arrive very soon, with news that Toyota's bread-and-butter sedan will be getting an update in just a few weeks time at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
"On April 16 at the New York International Auto Show, we will make an important announcement about America's best-selling car, the Toyota Camry," said Curt McAllister, Toyota product news manager, in an emailed statement. Considering the high-profile nature of the NYAS - not to mention the competition that will be shown there - it makes sense that Toyota would choose to unveil something as significant as a major refresh at the Javits Center.
We wish we had more to tell you than this, but unfortunately, that's about all we've got to go on at this time. Of course, we'll have much more for you during the lead up to NYAS, including any leaks of the refreshed Camry. Stay tuned.
