1989 Toyota Supra Turbo-low Miles, All Stock And Original! No Reserve!! on 2040-cars

Year:1989 Mileage:77000 Color: of this car is painted in pearl white
Location:

Spokane, Washington, United States

Spokane, Washington, United States

This is a rare opportunity for someone to adopt my "baby". The difference between this car and all the other ones you have seen is simple: This is the nicest, cleanest, most well-kept example you will find. PERIOD! This '89 Supra Turbo is in astonishing original condition for its age. It has been garage kept 24/7, unless it was being enjoyed on a sunny day. NOT driven in bad weather of any kind. NO smoking, NO pets, NO eating, and probably most importantly, NO ABUSE. This car starts, runs, and drives as it should. It doesn't leak any fluids, it doesn't use any oil, and there are no strange knocks or pings. It has not been modified in any way, with the exception of a Kenwood CD player and a washable, re-useable air filter. The exterior of this car is painted in pearl white, and it shines beautifully. No rust anywhere, and no dents. The interior is burgundy cloth, and the seats, carpet, dash, etc. are almost like brand new. A major benefit of being in the garage so much... Even the original floor mats are still in place!! Under the mats, the carpet is perfect.

As you can see in the photos, this car has only 77k miles on the clock. Yes, the miles are original and accurate. The tires have less than 500 miles on them, and are mounted to the original Toyota aluminum wheels, which have NO damage or curb rash. I am not the original owner of this car, but I am INCREDIBLY particular (and old). This car clearly shows that it has always had proper care and maintenance. I have spent tons of money on this car making it right, so you don't have to. Items just replaced this year include the valve cover gaskets, plugs and wires, oxygen sensors, thermostat, alternator, and several hoses under the hood. Everything was replaced at a Toyota dealer, using genuine Toyota parts. All maintenance is up to date. These cars are going up in value, as they are slowly becoming more difficult to find. NADA blue book value is $9900. This car is priced very fairly for the condition that it's in. No, it's not brand new, so there are some very minor imperfections. Still, I'd call it a 9.5 out of 10 for a 25 year old original sports car. This car has been well-loved, and it shows! It is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Only ever had premium fuel, and washed/waxed every couple of weeks.

This car is an absolute joy to drive, and I get compliments on it often. I am only selling it because I bought a newer one. Well, that and I have 3 other cars and a truck... I have had a few people say that they'd be interested in the car if it had a manual transmission. Let me assure you: the automatic in this car is awesome! It shifts firmly and quickly, and has a "power" mode selector for even better performance. It leaves NOTHING on the table- the car is fast! The windows have a nice aftermarket tint, professionally installed. No bubbles or other weirdness. The spare tire and jack are in place, and the original owner's manual is included. Clear title in hand.

Check my feedback score, and bid with confidence. The photos I have included do NOT do this car justice- in person, this car looks 3 years old, not 25! It matters to me who gets this car, so please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I will respond promptly. Also, I will assist with shipping. DO NOT bid if you don't have the money, have a low feedback score, or you are "kicking tires". I will work with you as far as payment goes, however I will expect payment in full within 3 days of auction close. If you have specific questions, feel free to call me. I'll be busy during the week, so questions sent via ebay messaging might not get answered right away (best to call if you're serious). The car is located in Spokane, Wa. Auction is no reserve, so someone's about to get a beautiful car. For info., the pics were taken on 5/31/14. Bid away!

Good luck,

Toyota Harrier gets a whale of a facelift [w/video]

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Historically, the Toyota Harrier has been a doppelgänger for North America's Lexus RX - at some points, it was little more than a badge-swap and a few options away, at least aesthetically. That appears to be changing with this just-revealed new generation at the Tokyo Motor Show.
That's because this two-row, five-seat Toyota is in possession of a bold new look, dominated by a jutting, baleen-like grille edged in chrome, along with new headlamps and fascia. The greenhouse has likewise been revamped and gotten more pointed at the rump, which has new taillights, a resurfaced tailgate and a faux rear diffuser. Were it to be ported over to North American Lexus dealers intact, the Harrier's look would be jarring in light of the brand's spindle-grille-based design language, so we suspect that if the RX gets any of these updates (it was just refreshed for 2013), it will strike out on a different path visually.
Unlike the US RX, the new Harrier will rely on smaller-displacement four-cylinder engines, namely a 2.0-liter paired with a continuously variable transmission or a 2.5-liter four backed up by an electric motor. We'd like to see a smaller-displacement option for the US RX (it presently runs with 3.5-liter V6 engines in both gas-only and hybrid guise), but suspect it won't arrive until the next all-new model.

Toyota demos its TRD Pro Series line [w/video]

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

With a rich history of creating off-road worthy trucks and SUVs and a somewhat bland impression of its brand overall, Toyota has wisely created a line of TRD Pro Series vehicles to spice up its showrooms and newly engage customers. Debuting at this year's Chicago Auto Show before rolling into dealers this fall, the TRD-tuned vehicles include the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra, all with added rough-road gear and amped-up looks.
The TRD Pro Series trucks might end up, in many cases, as lifestyle accessories for outdoorsy types, but that doesn't mean they're all show. TRD springs and Bilstein dampers are set up for off-road performance, while skid plates will protect the softish underbellies of these would-be rock-crawlers. The trio all get lifted over stock height, as well, with two-inch gains for the Tundra and Tacoma (lovingly referred to as "Taco Supreme" in the Toyota press release), and an inch-and-a-half rise for the 4Runner.
We detailed all of the changes to the Pro Series vehicles in our original announcement post, and you'll also find more granularity of information in the Toyota press release below. Before you dive in, however, be sure to take in our set of live, action-packed images from the Chicago Show floor.

Toyota retires robots in favor of humans to improve automaking process

Sat, 12 Apr 2014

Mitsuru Kawai is overseeing a return to the old ways at Toyota factories throughout Japan. Having spent 50 years at the Japanese automaker, Kawai remembers when manual skills were prized at the company and "experienced masters used to be called gods, and they could make anything." Company CEO Akio Toyoda personally chose Kawai to develop programs to teach workers metalcraft such as how to forge a crankshaft from scratch, and 100 workstations that formerly housed machines have been set aside for human training.
The idea is that when employees personally understand the fabrication of components, they will understand how to make better machines. Said Kawai, "To be the master of the machine, you have to have the knowledge and the skills to teach the machine." Lessons learned by the newly skilled workers have led to shorter production lines - in one case, 96percent shorter - improved parts production and less scrap.
Taking time to give workers the knowledge to solve problems instead of merely having them "feed parts into a machine and call somebody for help when it breaks down," Kawai's initiative is akin to that of Toyota's Operations Management Consulting Division, where new managers are given a length of time to finish a project but not given any help - they have to learn on their own. It's not a step back from Toyota's quest to build more than ten million cars a year; it's an effort to make sure that this time they don't sacrifice quality while making the effort. Said Kawai, "We need to become more solid and get back to basics."
