1991 Toyota Mr2 on 2040-cars
Clarksburg, West Virginia, United States
Up for sale is my 1991 Toyota MR2, 2.2l N/A.
It has: 5zigen FN01R-C 17" rims with nice tires(only about 3k miles on tires), full coilover suspension, 4-wheel alignment to factory specs, steel braided brake lines, new drilled/slotted rotors and pads last summer, front polished strut tower brace, quad projector headlights with low-rise mod, '93+ front lip, blue leather interior, ice cold A/C, custom white gauge faces with blue lighting, 2000 watt stereo system with clarion NX702 touch screen NAV head unit with sirius module, rockford fosgate 10" subs and 6 speakers with crossovers and two custom mounted Crunch amps in trunk, full LED tail lights and LED interior courtesy lighting, TRD short throw shifter with '93+ knob, cold air intake, TRD rear strut tower brace, full stainless magnaflow dual exhaust, turbo deck lid, NGK plug wires. There is a dent in the passenger fender, missing corner of turn signal lens and one projector is missing lens(see pic). This does not affect the performance of the car. The paint is not perfect but looks good for a 23 year old car. The car is solid and a blast to drive and sounds amazing with the exhaust and intake. Please contact me with any questions. The MR2 is sold AS-IS. I have too many toys at the moment and this one needs to find a new home. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thanks for looking and just ask if you have any questions. |

Australia may offer money to keep Toyota making cars there
Tue, 04 Jun 2013In the wake of last month's announcement that Ford will cease automotive and engine production in Australia after 2016, many are wondering what the country's other automakers will do. Holden has already confirmed it will stay the course despite Ford's exit.
Much of the GM subsidiary's reason for sticking around has to do with a deal made last year between Holden and the Australian government. In order to secure a GM investment of $1 billion and a commitment to keep manufacturing in Australia through 2022, the government threw in an extra $215 million. According to Australia's Minister for Innovation and Industry, Greg Combet, the government is now in talks with Toyota for a similar deal.
Toyota operates one plant in Australia, the Altona manufacturing and engine plant in Victoria. The facility produces the Camry, Camry Hybrid and Australasia-only Aurion for both the local market and export. The report from GoAuto indicates that negotiations with the Australian government would include adding production of a third, all-new model at Altona, possibly the new RAV4, because it shares many parts with the Camry.
Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash
Fri, 11 Oct 2013Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
Toyota confirms i-Road electric trike for production
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The wacky, three-wheeled Toyota i-Road we saw in Geneva earlier this year will be heading to production. But before you run down to your local Toyota dealer looking for one of these all-electric "personal mobility" vehicles, chances are, you'll never actually see one unless you visit Japan.
Announced at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) expo last week, Toyota said that the i-Road would be used as a part of the Ha:Mo car-sharing system in Japan. Weighing in at around 661 pounds, with a 28-mile-per-hour top speed and a two-passenger seating arrangement, the i-Road seems more like a fully enclosed scooter than a car, but it does offer a 30-mile driving range and has a nifty articulating front suspension that leans into corners. As for Ha:Mo, Toyota says that the number of cars in the program will increase from 10 prior to October 1 to 100 by the middle of this month, and the number of stations will almost double from 13 up to 21. Toyota has more details about the car and Ha:Mo in the press release posted below.
