Year:1983 Mileage:63000
Location:

Miami Beach, Florida, United States

Miami Beach, Florida, United States

KNOWN HISTORY (3rd Owner), MOST, IF NOT ALL: ORIGINAL OWNER DOCUMENTS, SERVICE HISTORY, MANUALS, TOOL KIT.  RECENT FULL TUNE UP INCLUDING WIRES (sorry for the blue wires), SOME HOSES, AC HOSE, ALL LUBRICANTS, FILTERS.

RUNS STRONG,CLEAN, QUIET AND STRAIGHT. AC ICE COLD! ORIGINAL PAINT, as far as I can tell, EXCEPT LEFT FRONT FENDER (REPAIRED BY BODY SHOP FOR ORIGINAL OWNER).   INTERIOR EXCELLENT EXCEPT AS NOTED. BASICALLY  "UNMOLESTED".

KNOWN ISSUES INCLUDE; PAINT CHIPS, CARPET PILLING SOME AREAS, OLD NON WORKING AFTERMARKET CRUISE CONTROL, RECENT (SEE BELOW EXPLANATION) RUST IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND UNDERBODY. THE SHOP WHO DID THE TUNE UP DID SOME WIRE BRUSHING AND PAINTING UNDER THE HOOD (AIR CLEANER, RADIATOR). THE WORK IS REMEDIAL RATHER THAN PROFESSIONAL. SCUFF MARK ON ONE SIDE NEEDS COMPOUND TO REMOVE, DINGS(NOT HOLES) IN CARGO AREA WHEEL WELL VINYL. SOME OF THE UNDERBODY COATING (AFTERMARKET DONE BY ORIGINAL OWNER) IS COMING OFF AFTER ALL THESE YEARS (SEE PICTURE). AFTER MARKET (SEARS)?) CRUISE CONTROL INSTALLED BY ORIGINAL OWNER NOT WORKING.

PURCHASED WITH 57,000 MILES 5 YEARS AGO.  NOW THE MILEAGE IS 63,000 + . MOVED THE CAR FROM NYC TO MIAMI BEACH.   DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE THAT IS CLIMATE CONTROLLED AND  THE SALT AIR WILL DESTROY THIS CAR SO I AM SELLING. I THINK THIS FJ60 IS TOO GOOD TO LOSE TO RUST.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY. SELLING  "AS IS, WHERE IS".  PREFER TO SELL TO SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN AND DRIVEN THIS CAR SO THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING!!!!!  I THINK THIS IS A VERY SOLID CAR. IT SHOWS IT'S LOW MILEAGE. I HAVE TRIED TO PUT REASONABLY REPRESENTATIVE PHOTOS.  IT CAN BE SEEN IN MIAMI BEACH. THIS IS A CASH OR WIRE TRANSFER  ONLY SALE. UPON CLEARANCE OF FUNDS I WILL HAND OVER CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE SIGNED OVER TO THE NEW OWNER . FULL PAYMENT WITHIN  THREE BUSINESS DAYS OR I WILL RELIST.

THIS VEHICLE  IS SUBJECT TO PRIOR SALE BEFORE END OF AUCTION. WILL TRY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS QUICKLY.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.

Toyota demos its TRD Pro Series line [w/video]

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

With a rich history of creating off-road worthy trucks and SUVs and a somewhat bland impression of its brand overall, Toyota has wisely created a line of TRD Pro Series vehicles to spice up its showrooms and newly engage customers. Debuting at this year's Chicago Auto Show before rolling into dealers this fall, the TRD-tuned vehicles include the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra, all with added rough-road gear and amped-up looks.
The TRD Pro Series trucks might end up, in many cases, as lifestyle accessories for outdoorsy types, but that doesn't mean they're all show. TRD springs and Bilstein dampers are set up for off-road performance, while skid plates will protect the softish underbellies of these would-be rock-crawlers. The trio all get lifted over stock height, as well, with two-inch gains for the Tundra and Tacoma (lovingly referred to as "Taco Supreme" in the Toyota press release), and an inch-and-a-half rise for the 4Runner.
We detailed all of the changes to the Pro Series vehicles in our original announcement post, and you'll also find more granularity of information in the Toyota press release below. Before you dive in, however, be sure to take in our set of live, action-packed images from the Chicago Show floor.

Toyota's Psy-style Waku-Doki ad inherits Japan's bizarre ad crown

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

A new Japanese Toyota ad featuring crisply suited businessmen driving into the jungle only to segue into a Psy-style music-video dance-off with a gorilla and natives is the latest car commercial to go viral. Jungle Wakudoki is the newest installment in a grand tradition of bizarre ads from the island nation that are by turns hilarious, head-scratching and occasionally even frightening.
Let's face it: My people are weird.
I'm half-Japanese and take suitable pride in my Asian roots, but even I can't figure out what's been slipped into the water coolers of the country's ad agencies much of the time - or the nation at large, for that matter. From Japan's ubiquitous obsession with all things adorable (kawaii) to its offbeat sense of humor and its bizarrely perverse and violent tentacle porn, it's clear there's a lot going on in the culture, and only some of it bubbles up to the surface in its marketing efforts. Much of the strangest and most amazing ads are for non-transportation products (e.g. laundry soap, snacks, energy drinks), but the automotive space has its fair share. This latest Toyota ad had me trawling YouTube for a common theme, trying to make sense of why these spots are the way they are. Scroll down to watch the Toyota ad in question as well as a bunch of other examples of Japan's most bizarre car-related ads and see if you can't find the thread that runs between them. Is it just that something's being lost in translation? Have your say in Comments.
