This is an adult owned cruiser that has had many significant upgrades, including: full roll cage, four point belt harness's, 4" skyjacker lift, 456 rear end, and the desirable ARB's front and back. The steering has been upgraded to Saginaw power steering, and this enhanced both highway and off road driving. The cracked windshield was replaced with new Toyota glass. The six cyl. 2F engine is legally desmogged, and pulls strong. The carburetor was upgraded to a Webor. 38/38 syncro, K&N Filter, headers, and Flow Master exhaust. The tires have just a few mile on them, and are 35x12.5x15SSR's and are mounted on alloy rims. All gauges work. And a tach. was installed. It has a CD player/stereo. Also sold with the cruiser are several tops, including a 1976 FJ40 hard top, side and rear doors (ambulance doors). the hard top is white and yellow. There is also the bimini top, rear dust panel and soft side doors. The blue paint still shines up nice (as shown in photos). There are no major rust issues, but it does have some small areas of rust in the usual places-back of the bed where the tailgate closes. There have been over 12K worth of improvements to the cruiser. It is perfect for your country property, hunting, exploring or whatever. And.. it has not been trashed by any off road fanatics. Please call 360 460 0630 for more information. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!

Subcompact sales slump, yet again
Toyota must go to trial over unintended acceleration suits
Tue, 08 Oct 2013Toyota is surely readying its trial lawyers, as the Japanese giant is officially headed to court in a pair of cases relating to its unintended acceleration fiascos of 2009 and 2010.
In the first case, the United States Supreme Court has actually got involved in matters, ignoring an appeal from Toyota that attempted to use an arbitrator to settle its California lawsuits. The automaker will now go to trial to face owners of 2010 Prius models over an alleged defect with the anti-lock braking systems, which plaintiffs say made the cars more difficult to stop, according to Bloomberg.
The second trial is a bit more in depth, covering the case of Ida St. John, an 83-year-old from Georgia, that crashed her 2005 Camry in 2009. The accident is believed to have played a part in her death, although the suit, being filed by her grandson, doesn't actually place blame on Toyota for her death.
2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid
Mon, 21 Oct 2013People, us included, make a big stink about the importance of family sedans. There's no doubt they're critical - they represent a huge slice of the market's annual sales and profits. However, despite accounting for far fewer transactions than the midsize sedan segment, the fullsize sedan is getting attention from manufacturers now that our market's entire lineup of those (slightly) smaller four-doors has turned over in the last two years or so. As most of the fullsize segment's mainstays derive a fair bit of their platform and powertrain technologies from their midsize cousins, these larger four-doors offer the potential for fatter profit margins, too. And with the newly stylish duds found on many of the industry's most successful midsize sedans, it's only right that automakers no longer think about fullsizers as big, squishy, vanilla family haulers with flat seats, vague steering and a thin layer of 'luxury' in the form of faux wood trim.
As manufacturers have again started diving into large sedans feet-first, the cars themselves have become sharper. The interiors are now of a higher quality and loaded with tech, while the exteriors have become further extensions of each manufacturer's design language. There's perhaps no greater example of this than the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Taurus, two models that evolved from subpar offerings into market leaders. This segment-wide transformation happened quite quickly, whether because of coincidental timing or because manufacturers are trying to get more out of their big cars, recognizing they account for a small portion of overall sales (just 3.5 percent of the new-car market in the first half of 2013).
The 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is one such vehicle. We remarked on the changes to the V6 variant last year, and while we previously had a quick steer of the gas-electric hybrid, we figured the new model was worth a closer week-long look.
