Up for sale is a beautiful 82 fj60. This used to be my daily driver but i moved across the country and this rig is still sitting in my parents garage. It only has 93k original miles on it so theres still tons of life left in this cruiser. The body is straight and has no major dents or scratches and the paint shines nicely but there are some surface scratches. The interior is all original and all there but it does need a headliner depending on what you do to it, it didn't bother me any so i just drove it the way i bought it. The truck itself is solid and rides great, starts right up and shifts nicely. Expect to do a tune up and possibly a carb rebuild as it has only been started a few times to move it in the last months. The truck is currently off the road so bring a trailer. Payment must be made to me in Colorado before i release the vehicle in NY. Cash on delivery will not be accepted. Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too
Fri, 24 Oct 2014The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.
Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
