Hello Everyone. FIRST OF ALL THE VIN NUMBER FOR THIS CRUISER IS: BJ41013098. The engine is the Stock 2B Factory engine that was sold with this Land Cruiser in 1981. No adjustments or alterations have been made. This Diesel Cruiser is 100% bone stock from the Factory. The Cruiser is properly Registered and Titled in the State of California. Title is Clear. I have all Receipts of work that I have done to this beautiful BJ41. I am selling my 1981 BJ41 Diesel Toyota Land Cruiser. Just to let you know the COLOR CODE 202 / TOYOTA BLACK is 100% FACTORY for this cruiser and Extremely Rare. The Color Code is posted on the VIN PLATE on the firewall. Toyota never exported Black Land Cruisers. The BJ41 Diesel as you know was only sold in Japan, for the Japan market, and within that market Toyota only produced a handful of Factory Black Cruisers. This one is beautiful. I own another one as well ( Red ) and can tell you that ALL PARTS are available at any time from SPECTER OFF ROAD in Chatsworth, California. www.sor.com . You never have to worry about parts and please note that body, chassis, interior on this cruiser are exactly like the domestic LC's anyway so no worries there either. Just to be clear though,,,,,,,,,PARTS FOR TRANY, TRANSFER, BRAKES, ENGINE, RADIATOR, ALL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE WHEN NEEDED FROM WWW.SOR.COM in Chatsworth, California. The fact that this cruiser gets over 25 miles per gallon makes it a logical daily driver if that is what your looking for. Weekends also for extended mountain trips for camping since fuel mileage is so good. My other BJ is my daily driver. It is nice to be able to actually drive my other cruiser all the time without going broke. Gassers are great but the 2B DIESEL in this cruiser gets wonderful fuel mileage, is extremely rugged, go anywhere and will easily last 500k miles if you take care of it. The engine runs PERFECT. No issues at all with this cruiser. I have just replaced ALL FLUIDS ie: Brake, Radiator, Both front and rear Differentials, Oil, Oil Filter, Trany and Transfer Case Oil,,,,,,,,,All new fluids only have 20 miles on them. The cruiser also just had a Valve Adjustment, New Valve Cover Gasket, New Rear Brakes, New Master Cylinder, New SPECTER OFF ROAD CUSTOM SLIP COVERS, Brand New BFG All Terrain T/A 32 x 11.50 x 15 tires x 5 under Full Warranty, Newly Restored Stock Land Cruiser Steel Wheels ( just Powder Coated less then 20 miles ago ), Brand New Factory Hub Caps, New Headliner from Specter Off Road, New bulbs, Replaced Front Bumper, Recharged Air Conditioner Blows very cold, New Fuel Pump, New Paint touch up, Original Factory Seats were kept since they are so dang rare but covered with New Factory Fitted Gray Seat Slip Covers from Specter Off Road, New Shift Knob, New Brake Master Cylinder and A Brand New Interstate Battery also under full warranty. Please email if you have any questions. I have owned 22 Land Cruisers since 1974. I love my Cruisers and as a collector only buy the best cruisers as I look closely at them before I make a purchase. In my opinion you will be getting not only one the rarest Land Cruisers in the country due to its color code 202 but a Diesel Cruiser that will take you anywhere, anytime and in any terrain. I would drive this cruiser to Alaska and not worry about its performance. The cruiser has No Rust, Engine Runs Perfect and has been maintained by a qualified Diesel Land Cruiser Mechanic since I have owned it. The Transmission ( 4 speed ) and Transfer Case 4 x 4 are both in excellent running condition. The Cruiser does NOT Smoke, starts right up and idles perfectly. The brakes were just changed in the rear and a new Master Cylinder just put in. The Cruiser stops straight and is good to go anywhere. The undercarriage is in wonderful shape also. Solid, straight. Good AC, Good Heater, All systems work. I think I have set the Ebay Reserve fairly based on the condition of the cruiser since I have " Semi-Restored / Refreshed " it. All work has just been done. Less then 20 miles on all the work done. I am NOT giving this diesel away but am hoping to find it a good home, someone that will take good care of it and enjoy driving it both on the backroads and highways. It does NOT go fast so if your looking for speed do not buy this cruiser. It is very happy at around 65 to 70 miles per hour but that is about it. As far as backcountry, Off Road torque? Well, there is nothing better out there. These diesels Toyota Land Cruisers are simply the best in my opinion. They are tough and go forever. I know since I drive my other one full time. Any questions please let me know and I will post them for everyone to see. I will NOT post your email address or name, just your question. Thanks and good luck bidding. I have the name of a few good shipping companies that I have used if anyone needs them. From California where I am to East Coast is about $1000 for outside travel and about $1500 for inside travel transport. I will also post any new info if I think of anything. Please Note: MORE PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. I HAVE DETAILED PICS OF THE WHOLE CRUISER. Anyone who wants to check out the cruiser MUST send a qualified licensed Mobile Tech to my location. I am not able to take the cruiser anywhere. Right now it is covered and NOT being used. THANKS. GLOBALVU3NN3.

Toyota recounts past Supra glories

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

It could just be a slow start to the news week around the Toyota offices, but its UK blog has posted a brief history on its legendary Supra sports car. Read into however you'd like, but there has been plenty of speculation as to the return of the Supra nameplate in recent years (including last month from incoming Toyota chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada).
Built from April 1978 through July 2002, Toyota's sports coupe made quite a name for itself as both the Celica Supra (shown above) and the Supra, and the blog post charts many of the changes and highlights through the years. Head on over to the Toyota UK blog to read more about this Supra's history, and then be sure to check out the gallery of images from Toyota spanning all four generations.

Toyota Hilux successor spotted

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The midsize truck segment is suddenly seemingly exploding with new vehicles worldwide, even here in North America. Not only will the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon be available very soon, Toyota is already testing a replacement for its aging Tacoma and Honda has promised a Ridgeline replacement within the next 18 months. Also, the recently shown Nissan Navara is said to portend the future of our Frontier. Here's some more fresh evidence from Europe of this pickup boom with the next generation of its venerable Hilux in testing.
Thanks to Top Gear and sometimes the evening news, the Hilux has built a reputation of being able to go just about anywhere. According to out spy shooter, this particular pickup was spotted during hot weather testing in southern Europe. Interestingly, a Volkswagen Amarok was along for the ride as a benchmark. Because the VW tends to offer a bit more comfort than the generally utilitarian Hilux, this could indicate Toyota is considering taking the new truck in a slightly comfier, more refined direction.
Compared to the current model, this camouflaged tester sports a narrower front grille and headlights. The hood scoop is also absent here. The lower air dam also receives a more horizontal look, but the more vertical fog light housings provide some contrast. The crazy camouflage pattern makes things hard to discern at the rear, but the taillights appear to be more slender than they on the current model. Unfortunately, mechanical details about the new truck remain a mystery at the moment, but enjoy these spy shots as a preview of one more upcoming pickup.

Toyota CamRally is vanilla spiced

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We weren't quite sure it was possible, but NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman and the other folks behind this Toyota Dream Build Challenge vehicle (check out the other cars in the challenge) have made the Camry, a versatile but vanilla family sedan, into a performance car to be reckoned with. And by stripping it (literally) of its versatility and injecting some spice into it, this rally-spec Camry does indeed appeal to the enthusiast crowd.
The appeal starts with the CamRally's vintage Toyota racing colors of red, orange and yellow painted on a widened body. Those wide fender flares and rocker panels, paired with the revised front and rear fascias (and massive rear spoiler), lend the car an aggressive look without being tacky, and enhance the aerodynamics. But peel back the skin and you'll find plenty of performance upgrades to back up the looks.
While Toyota doesn't say how much horsepower it makes, the CamRally's V6 is turbocharged, and we assume the car's brake upgrade is indicative of the engine's increased output. The stripped interior only contains what's needed for rally racing, including bucket seats, a motorsport steering wheel covered in Alcantara, a carbon-fiber dashboard and a roll cage.
