WestCoast, British Columbia, Canada

This truck came to THE West Coast Canada from Santa Ana California about 5 years ago. It has about 50% original paint, beautiful Desert Tan, with the odometer reading only 1920.5 miles. It is a Calif emissions truck. The 2F was desmogged with a header when I bought it. Since I have owned it, I have had the head rebuilt and new BFG 32s on white spoke rims and a set of mint new hub caps come with it too. I sent carb out for rebuild and installed new radiator. Truck was repainted before me because the desert sun faded the original paint. It has a factory winch front bumper, and an aftermarket Tuffy box. Seats and dash pad are like new and stock. The truck is really rust free except for small, surface rust areas and the driver’s lower door. The frame is as clean as the top side. Runs and drives perfect. Has factory 4SP, front disc brakes, and interior is all stock and original in great shape. Heater works as it should, very cozy FJ pod. Dealership installed Warn locking hubs. Brakes recently done. Driver’s seat has one split easy repair. Since I have owned the truck it has been used only for local errands and never off road. Comes with all original dated Owners Manuals and Docs. Decided to sell as I need a larger back area for my German shepherd. I am about 4 hours North of Seattle WA. Can email more pictures upon request.

Note: Listed locally for sale, I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Buyer responsible for shipping of so required. Email if you have any questions will offer up what I know. Thank you and Happy Bidding!

Toyota sees Camry share loss despite predicting increasing sales

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

Toyota may be set to lose share the midsize sedan market. While speaking with Automotive News, Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz said that if his company kept pace with the current swell in the market for family four doors, Toyota would need to sell around 500,000 Camry models. "I'm not sure we can do much more than 400 [thousand] today," Lentz said.
But that doesn't mean Camry sales are shrinking - on the contrary, Lentz thinks Toyota will likely sell more Camry units in 2013 than it did in 2012, it's just that the company isn't keeping pace with segment's current explosion in popularity. Industry wide, midsized sedan sales have increased by 20 percent. "Are we going to lose [Camry] share? Probably so," Lentz said, "but we will continue to grow in raw volume."
Toyota sold 404,886 Camry units last year, and the company just revised its 2013 sales objective from 2.18 million units earlier this year to 2.2-million plus units, so while things are looking up for the brand and Camry sales may be on the rise, Toyota may not have the muscle to keep up its share in the sedan segment. Whether that's because of a production bottleneck or a predicted sales ceiling isn't clear. We've got a call in and will update this news item if/when we learn more.

Toyota Camry, Lexus RX to get aluminum parts

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

Ah, aluminum. The lightweight, strong material has long held a following within the premium ranks, but as Ford prepares to launch an aluminum F-150, the material is gaining acceptance among more mainstream automakers. Toyota is one such brand, with a new report indicating that the Japanese giant will add aluminum bits and bobs to some of its upcoming vehicles.
These won't be full, aluminum-intensive treatments like the F-150, however. Automotive News reports that an aluminum hood and liftgate will be coming to the 2016 Lexus RX, and following that, the Camry will get a bonnet built from Element 13 for model year 2018.
As AN points out, Toyota is no stranger to aluminum, using it in Japanese-built models like the Prius and Scion FR-S. The RX and Camry, though, will mark the first time the company's North American factories will use the material, and they'll do so on a significantly larger scale, owing to the higher volumes that the Camry and RX represent.

Toyota confirms all-wheel drive V8 hybrid for TS040 LMP1 car in 2014

Sun, 02 Feb 2014

The 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship is gearing up to be one of the most exciting seasons of endurance racing in recent memory. All of the factory-entered LMP1 class cars are using hybrid powertrains, and Porsche is returning to the top class of the sport after a 16-year absence. Don't count out Toyota, though. The team has just revealed the first official details about its 2014 TS040 LMP1 car, and it has a big surprise - all-wheel drive.
The TS040 will follow Audi's lead and will use a combination motor and generator to power the front wheels. The system will generate power under braking and will use it up when accelerating to give a boost in traction over last year's rear-wheel-drive Toyota TS030. Toyota will stick with a gasoline-fueled, naturally aspirated 3.4-liter V8 to feed the rear wheels and will take on Audi's diesel, turbocharged 3.7-liter V6 and Porsche's gasoline-fueled, turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
Sadly, there are no real pictures of the TS040 yet. Toyota is holding off on unveiling the car until the end of March at the WEC test at the Paul Ricard circuit, and the racing season doesn't begin until April 20 with the 6 Hours of Silverstone. You can read the whole press release about the TS040 below.
