1999 Toyota Camry LE Platinum Edition

 Autocheck Certified showing

Performance Autos of SW Florida
My name is Mike and I can be reached at 239-895-3962

Looks to be "Garage" kept because the exterior shines brightly, never smoked in
with a near perfect interior, and the cigarette lighter never used.

By the way the TIMING BELT was changed at 83,896 miles!!!!

Lots of extras even for an LE, like power driver's seat.  Also a Platinum
Edition which includes custom striping, rear spoiler, tinted windows
and the wheel covers the same color as the car in Gray Pearl Metallic Clearcoat

Best of all is it is the 4 cylinder not
the troublesome V6!!!! This almost indestructible engine is a 2.2L
4 cylinder that creates 133 horsepower and yields a tidy 22 combined and
28 highway and some people tested were getting 36 Mpg's on the highway
according to fueleconomy.gov.

WOW!!! Plus the TIMING BELT was changed
less than 13,000 miles ago!!! We also had the oil changed (it didn't
even need it!) and a safety inspection performed on this vehicle and
the brakes and tires are in great shape.

Runs, drives and shifts nicely with no clunking or front end noise.

Inside other options include automatic transmission
AM/FM cassette/CD player
Power windows, locks and side view mirrors
ICE cold air conditioner
Cruise control
Tilt wheel
Air bags plus many more!

The air blows so cold with Toyotas
you have to turn the fan down (works on all 5 speeds) even when it gets
to 110 degrees on the heat index here in Fort Myers, Florida.

All the electrical equipment works including the cruise control, power windows
and even all the speakers on the stereo system.

Again the paint is
fabulous and the interior is gorgeous including the new mats, carpets,
seats, headliner and all the instrumentation. Super duper nice car and
guess what... we don't have any "Dealer Fees" either!!!!

If you buy from a
Dealer you may pay an extra hidden fee tacked on the final price that they
don't tell you about until the end. We are one of the few Florida
Dealers that doesn't have any Dealer Fees!!!

Fold down rear seats

New Camry floor mats
Books & owners manual
Toyota security with keyless entry with remote

So to help with the
shipping or other transportation costs we have made the buy it now
super fair and super reasonable at only $5888 and no hidden fees!!!! We
do not accept offers because this is our best price. If you have any
questions call me right now at (239) 895-3962 and I WILL ANSWER, or
call right back. Thank you for your consideration, Michael J Medinis,

****PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING****

  • We ask that all successful bidders please contact me within 24 hours of auction end to begin process of completing the sale. Please do not make a bid on my car if you have no intention of buying it. Time is precious, let's not waste each other's. We promise to be fair to you, please do the same for us.
  • All vehicles are sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer assumes all responsibility once vehicle leaves our possession. The vehicle will be described accurately, but remember these are used cars, they will show signs as such. You are not bidding on brand new cars, so there may be parts of the vehicle that are not brand new. We are sure this is obvious to most people, but we just want it to be perfectly clear. We will do our best to describe all the obvious and important things so you have a good idea of what you are buying.  With advance notice we will make our vehicles available for a PRE-BID inspection. This must be completed prior to bidding.  We are an appointment only dealership.  Please just either email or contact us by phone when making an appointment to view a vehicle or to pick up one you have purchased.  Thanks so much.
  • All vehicles 10 or more years old are sold exempt from mileage guarantees unless specifically mentioned. If we have documentation to back up the miles on these older cars, we will.

  • Florida residents must include 6% sales tax. According to Florida law, if an out-of-state purchaser takes delivery of a vehicle in the state of Florida we are obligated as a licensed dealer to collect sales tax at a rate equal to the purchasers state sales tax. The purchaser will then be given a receipt proving tax paid to present to their tax collectors office for sales tax credit. This does not apply to vehicles shipped out of state, only ones picked up in Florida.
  • Buyer assumes the cost of shipping and insurance. We already have contacts to ship the vehicle anywhere in the U.S.A. and will be glad to arrange this for you, and give you cost estimate ahead of time. If you are going to fly in, we will arrange transportation from the Ft. Myers International Airport.
  • All titles are guaranteed to be clean and free of any liens. If you would like documentation, contact us, and we will gladly get it for you.
  • Remember you are entering into a legally binding contract. WE WILL GIVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON ANY FINAL BIDDER THAT REFUSES TO HONOR HIS OR HER OBLIGATION!!!
  • Because of our local customers, we must reserve the right to cancel any auction early. This will be rare because we want to give everyone a fair chance. So don't be afraid to bid.
  • As with any preowned vehicle, personal preference is a factor.  Please consider and expect to invest a few hundred dollars into your new car, catering it to your individual tastes and requirements. We do try our very best to objectively describe our offerings and welcome your emails and phone inquiries. Again, Thank You.
  • Please use Paypal for $500 deposits only.  It assists in controlling our costs and can be accessed by logging in to http://www.paypal.com/, clicking send money, our email is Performance25@aol.com and selecting services.  Thanks so much for your help.

We make every effort to have ourselves available to show and deliver vehicles. However, Sunday is a day of rest, worship, and family for us. Therefore we do not conduct business on that day.

The pre-race and first in-race report from Le Mans

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

The 2013, 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has begun, tragedy marking the opening laps with the death of Allan Simonsen. We're at the track now as a guest of Audi and plan to stay through the evening, and even we haven't been able to find out what caused the accident - the only video is from just after the incident, and beyond the statement from ACO there's been no more news. The Aston Martin in the LM GTE Am class and its all-Danish drivers had taken pole in its class and was one of the favorites to win.
The pre-race report will come first, and even thought we can't spoil the race because we're only five hours into it at the time of writing, we'll put all of the news at the end in case you don't even want the updates.
Or you can go straight to the high-res galleries above.

Toyota reaches $1.2B unintended acceleration settlement in criminal probe

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

UPDATE: Just like that, Toyota has released an official statement confirming its $1.2-million dollar settlement with the US Attorney's Office. Our story has been updated to reflect this development and the automaker's official statement has been added below.
Toyota has reached a settlement over the criminal probe into its unintended acceleration problems, and the outcome is more expensive than first expected. The Japanese automaker has agreed to pay $1.2 billion to close the investigation among other settlement terms. The criminal inquiry focused on whether the company kept information from regulators and how it handled drivers' complaints about the problems, according to the sources.
Between 2009 and 2010, Toyota ended up recalling over 10 million vehicles worldwide over sudden acceleration fears. Fixes include modifying floor mats, gas pedals, and installing brake override software on affected models. In addition, Toyota made the latter standard on all of its new vehicles.

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.
