This 4Runner has been my daily driver for the past 2 years.  I recently acquired a 1997 Lexus LS400 so now this has to go.  Within the last 20,000 miles it has received a new Luk brand clutch kit, new Michelin LT M/S2 tires, the redesigned fuel sending unit and new fuel pump from Toyota, and both rear axle bearingsalso from Toyota.  I also installed a new clutch pedal (they are prone to wearing out once the plastic bushing falls out), clutch master cylinder, spark plugs, driver's door lock actuator, driver's door check, idle air control motor and the upstream oxygen sensor (all Toyota parts).  I installed a new set of updated Toyota floor mats (bigger cut-out around the gas pedal).  The water pump and timing belt service was performed @ 98,000 miles before I purchased  the vehicle (sticker on timing cover).  The Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD is about a year old.  It does have a Sirius adapter hooked up, so all you need is a subscription to enjoy your favorite tunes.  The only seat showing any wear is the driver seat.  There is no rust on this vehicle.  There is normal wear and tear on this vehicle.  The paint is looking like a 13 year old vehicle (It is still nice and shiny, but it does have chips and door dings).  This is a very-well maintained and excellent running 4Runner.  You know what it is.  You know what you want.  You will not be dissapointed.  Vehicle is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end auction early.  I will not end it if the reserve is met.  Thanks and good luck.

Toyota working on cars that hover above the roadway

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, but it's not content simply building and selling conventional cars - it's been at the forefront of numerous advancements in ground transportation. It is widely credited with advancing the cause of hybrid propulsion, and alongside Audi and Google, is among the first automakers seriously testing self-driving cars. We could go on, but the news here is that Toyota is reportedly developing vehicles that hover above the road surface instead of rolling along it.
The news comes from Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, one of Toyota's tech gurus, who revealed at Bloomberg's Next Big Thing summer in San Francisco that the company is working on hovering cars - ones that travel just above the road surface, but don't actually fly in three-dimension space.
According to The Verge, a spin-off of our own sister-site Engadget, Yoshiki refused to elaborate on what the project entails and how far along it is. He was speaking along acting NHTSA chief David Friedman, who lauded such advancements as a "great taste of innovations to come," but stressed the significance of more concrete improvements to conventional automobiles - like inter-car communications to keep vehicles from colliding on the highway - as more relevant to today's industry.

Toyota investing $30 million in Indiana for more Highlander production

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

Indiana seems like the place to be if you're looking for work in a car factory. In May, Subaru announced plans to invest $400 million in its Lafayette, Indiana plant, creating 900 new jobs in the process and increasing capacity to 300,000 units per year. Now, Toyota has announced plans to invest $30 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant, 170 miles south of the Subaru factory, which also builds the Camry.
Toyota's investment will create an additional 200 jobs and increase the factory's volume by 15,000 units. Toyota announced an investment in the plant in February of 2012 that bumped volume up from 300,000 to 350,000 units. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, as the Princeton facility is officially known, produces the recently revised Toyota Highlander, the Sequoia and the Sienna. It employs 4,500 people, and this announcement represents Toyota's tenth production increase in under two years.
