Awesome litte rig, got it about 8 months ago and just traded up to a new one now the wife says this one has to go.  Hate to get rid of it, especially after all the work I just put into it but a happy wife is a happy life.

Overall it's in really good shape for a 25+ year old 4X4.

The Good:
- Brand new Trail Tough Lift Kit with New YJ springs - $3,000 installed (go to trailtough.com and take a look at the Wrangler YJ Complete Spring Suspension Kit)
- Lots of other brand new suspension parts added that weren't included in the kit
- Just put a set of BFG 33X10.5X15s
- Went through and rebuild all the doors, and windows so they all open/close rollup/rolldown.
- Paint is in pretty good shape and you can see by the pictures it shines up nice.
- Re-terminated all the electrical connections around the battery
- Recent tune up and oil change
- Seat mounts extended for more leg room
- Came with factory air and all the parts are there but it does not work.
- Roof rack in the first picture is yours if you want it, wanted to get some pics up there with and without.

The Bad:
- two surface rust spots, one where the antenna connects to the body and one on the fender well, both pictured.  Other then that the rest of the body is rust free and solid.

These tin tops are getting harder and harder to find and I'd like this one to go to a good home.  Prefer a local buyer with cash but will take a remote buyer over PayPal and you pay to ship it.  I reserve the right to sell to a local buyer at any point and cancel the auction.

Suzuki recalling 2,800 XL7 models over faulty fuel pump

Sat, 29 Dec 2012

A recall has been issued for the 2007 Suzuki XL7, but only those vehicles either bought or registered in four states: Texas, Arizona, California and Nevada. Potentially 2,380 of the SUVs manufactured from June 13, 2006 to December 22, 2006 could have an issue with their fuel pump modules: The plastic supply or return port could crack. If that happens, it could lead to a fuel leak and then to a fire.
Suzuki hasn't said when the recall will begin. Once it does, owners will be notified and can have their dealers make the necessary repairs free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.

2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Motorcycle trends come and go like fashion, and the latest two-wheeled style du jour is the adventure bike. Chunky and rugged, these (sometimes) dirt-ready rides often take cues from the massive, Armageddon-ready rigs you'd find on the Dakar Rally. In their most neutered form, they can start as street bikes and adapt for adventure duty by adding taller suspension setups, removable saddlebags, bigger fuel tanks, and better wind protection.
Lying smack in the middle of that dirt/road matrix (and leaning toward the tarmac side) is the 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS. A venerable fixture in the adventure scene, it developed a primarily urban following after the model bowed in 2004, though it's also proved itself worthy of tackling trails and light offroad scenarios. For automotive folks not steeped in the vagaries of the motorcycle world, the V-Strom is the two-wheeled equivalent of the late, great Mitsubishi Montero: capable, no-nonsense, and a bit of an unsung hero in the face of more glamorous offroaders like the Land Rover LR4 and the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen.

Four seniors to drive around world in pair of Suzuki Jimny SUVs for charity

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

Plenty of us here at Autoblog have designs for epic drives. Whether it's bouncing around the country in an old International or heading from Alaska to Chile on a bike, we like to think we have big aspirations. Or at least we did until we heard about these four gentlemen. You see, Leslie George Carvall, Alan Butler, Glyn Maher and Charles Scott are all in their 70's, and they plan to pile into a pair of Suzuki Jimny SUVs and drive around the world. Sort of makes a hike across country seem like a trip down the block to the local corner store. They're calling it "The Ultimate Challenge," and they plan to undertake the journey for two reasons.
First, they want to prove that age shouldn't stand in the way of people doing what they want to do. Second, the group hopes to raise funds for the 'Heaven Can Wait I'm Busy' group, which aims to direct money toward worthy charities both in the UK and around the world. Save the Children and Oakhaven Hospice are the two currently designated charities.
The trip gets started in just three days, and you can head over to the effort's site to track their progress. The route should cover some 16,500 road miles and 10,375 sea miles. You can also catch up with the project on Facebook.
