2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara Luxury Sport Utility 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Navarre, Florida, United States
Up for sale is my 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara Luxury Edition 2WD SUV with a 2.7L V6. It only has 49,000 miles and is in excellent condition inside and out. The pictures do not even do it justice. It is a Rear Wheel Drive which one of my favorite features. It has Heated Leather seats which I thought was silly until this winter. It has most every option except GPS. Such as Smart Key, Power Sunroof, Power Locks, Power Windows, Cruise Control and 6 CD Stereo adjustable from the steering wheel. It has never given me any trouble and needs nothing. The tires are like new and the front brakes are brand new. The oil was changed on schedule. It averages 22 MPG with the K&N Air Filter. The seats and carpet are like new. Never Smoked in. No stains or tears and no dents. It has a Drawtite Trailer Hitch that was used for a bike rack but could easily tow small loads. I have the Title in Hand. I do not have to sell it so please no lowball offers. It is worth every penny come see for yourself. 850-376-2940 Brian

205k Suzuki models being investigated for airbag sensor issue
Wed, 19 Jun 2013The Detroit News is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation on the 2006-11 Suzuki Grand Vitara and 2007-11 Suzuki SX4 due to issues with the airbag and seatbelt for the front passenger seat. So far, NHTSA has received 128 complaints on these vehicles for airbag warning lights, airbag off lights and seatbelt lights, on a vehicle set that totals around 205,000 units, but there is no indication as to how many, if any, injuries have reported.
Via technical service bulletins, Suzuki has already acknowledged two airbag-related issues with front passenger seats on both vehicles, including a programming error for the passenger seat load indicator on 2009 models and an open-circuit problem for the sensor mat that determines if an adult or child is sitting in the front seat. Since this latter issue would not shut off or lessen the impact of the passenger airbag, Suzuki has already extended the warranty for the seat cushion bottom to 10 years or 120,000 miles. After ceasing new-car sales in the US and Canada, potential recall repairs (which still may or may not happen) would be handled by remaining dealers as laid out in the recent court-approved bankruptcy plan.
Suzuki Jimny displays Samurai spirit in Japanese snowstorm
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Say what you will about its smallest SUVs, but you have to hand it to Suzuki: the likes of the Samurai, Sidekick and Vitara were doing the little-sport-ute-that-could thing long before most of the rest of the industry caught on. And the formula remains relevant enough that Suzuki is still selling the same basic Samurai overseas as the Jimny.
That could be why the Samurai still has something of a cult following. Well, that and the name - which, as it turns out, may not have been such a stretch after all. A Samurai warrior, after all, was just one man - but like any other knight, he was worth more than his headcount on the battlefield. Or in this case, a Japanese snowstorm. Just watch the half-minute video below to see what we mean.
This is the facelifted Suzuki SX4 that we won't get
Tue, 05 Feb 2013The car you see above is, according to China Car Times, the facelifted Suzuki SX4 crossover. We've always had a soft spot for the SX4, so the fact that it's finally getting a significant update makes us a wee bit sad - after all, Suzuki just announced late last year that it's leaving the US market, so we'll never get this upgraded little 'ute on our shores.
Changes we can see include aggressively resculpted lighting units, interesting mold lines on the front bumper cap, redesigned air intakes and unique trim fillets on the doors.
At least we can take solace in the fact that there apparently aren't any significant alterations under the new bodywork, so our crop of used SX4s should be just as capable out on the road. In China, Suzuki's 1.6- and 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines are expected to carry over to the new year, along with the current model's CVT and manual drivelines.
