2008 Spark Silver Metallic Subaru Impreza WRX STi w/ 89,500 miles, mostly highway miles. Excellent condition. 2nd owner w/ CarFax on hand. Car is stock never been tracked/raced. 5% Tint all the way around. Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires with about 3.5k miles on them, plenty of life left. Tire dimensions 255/40/18. Wheels are currently white but can easily be changed back to the factory color. Passenger door was swiped in a parking lot, door has since then been professionally replaced with genuine Subaru parts. Brand new A/C Compressor installed by Subaru. Oil Changed regularly using only synthetic. Exterior is in near perfect condition w/ one very minor ding on drivers side door (hardly noticeable, didn't see it until a couple months of owning the car). Subaru teasing STI surprise for NYC show?

Subaru is no stranger to the Special Edition car, least of all where its vaunted WRX and STI are concerned. From Spec C to Prodrive to 22B, more than a handful of STI's around the world have been released as limited-run editions, often with stirring results. So, while we were more than a little bit surprised to see that big-wing crop up on the Subaru Twitter page today, we can't say as though its not true to the brand's history.
However, while most of the interesting WRX STI variants have been offered to Europe and Japan only, whatever is wearing that carbon-fiber-lipped wing is set to debut at the New York Auto Show this week.
We don't have a clue as to the precise nature of the car in front of that wing, save to say that it's likely based on the STI. We can guess, however that the extra vertical supports and the use of carbon fiber indicate a higher-performance version than currently exists. Anything from a racing application to some new goodies for the aftermarket are in the realm of possibility.

The Subaru Brat is the automotive equivalent of a teenager with a mullet: weird, a little reckless but brimming with enough self-confidence to make it cool.
The Brat came from Subaru's desire to compete in the burgeoning light pickup market of the late-1970s. To get around the so-called Chicken Tax that added a 25 percent tariff on imported pickup trucks, Subaru threw two seats in the bed, which technically allowed it to be classified it as a passenger car. The result was a great, weird combination of a complete lack of safety, with a low price and lots of driving fun.

We're looking at a design statement only at this point.
Subaru has dropped the curtain on its truly attractive WRX Concept and, as previewed a few days ago, we're fast fans of the wide, low, muscular sedan. The concept car looks great, but there was a distinct lack of information being offered about the next-generation WRX that is sure to follow this concept - we're looking at a design statement only at this point.
