Up for auction is my 2005 Subaru Outback Wagon. This vehicle has been in my family since new. It's never been in an accident or smoked in. No rust anywhere. The paint still shines. There are no stains, holes or tears in the upholstery. Headliner, door panels and carpets all good. Exterior features include front bug / stone deflector, rear gate spoiler, multi-reflector for lights, Outback-style body color-side molding, automatic-off 4-beam halogen headlights, protective rear bumper step pad, raised-profile black roof rails with cross bars, winter weather package including heated driver and passenger side rear view mirrors, rear window defroster, heated windshield. Interior features include power windows with driver side one-touch down function, power driver and passenger side rear view mirrors, cruise control, cargo area hooks, 12V auxiliary outlet in center console, front passenger setback net pocket, power door locks, black / gray flat woven upholstery, overhead console, heated front seats, cargo area security cover, remote keyless locks including rear tailgate unlock, illuminated visor vanity mirror with extenders, tinted windows. Mechanical features include electronic throttle control, rear limited slip differential, rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel disc brakes. Safety features include driver and passenger front airbags, driver and passenger side impact airbags, 4 wheel anti-lock brakes 9ABS), daytime running lights, front and rear side curtain airbags. There are factory original rubber floor mats in the front and rear seating area and a rubber cargo area mat in the rear. The car also comes equipped with a trailer hitch and wiring harness. All four tires are brand new. The driver heated seat does not work. There is one door ding in the driver door and one stone chip on the hood. Both are pictured. Otherwise, there are no known issues with the vehicle but you are buying it as is. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle anywhere, any distance. The vehicle is currently registered and inspected and driven minimally. Thanks for looking. If you have any questions I can be reached directly at 585-313-3782. I will not have access to email on the week end the auction ends so don't wait until the end to ask your questions. I won't be able to reply by email. Please call.

Watch Higgins' mind-blowing Subaru WRX STI Isle of Man record lap in first-person

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

Have you gotten sick of Subaru and the Isle of Man? Good, we'd hope not, because of all the videos we've posted so far, today's is the crown jewel. In-car, around the notoriously treacherous race track, with commentary from David Higgins himself.
It gets better, though. Overlaid with the video is the same biometric data that we showed you last week. The result is a heart-pumping, 22-minute video of the record-breaking sprint around the entirety of the Isle of Man TT circuit at a truly wild pace. Higgins commentary, meanwhile, simply adds to the experience of hurtling across the landscape. Subaru has also put together a second video, highlighting the WRX STI that was used in the lap.
You can view both of those videos, as well as a short press release from Subaru, below. Scroll down and take a look.

WRX Concept gets walkaround with Subaru design boss Osamu Namba

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

The Subaru WRX Concept was the only concept car to be mentioned among our Editors' Choice favorites for New York Auto Show debuts this year - snagging the No. 3 spot nonetheless - due to what it could mean to the future of Subaru if it indeed becomes a reality. Now that we've caught our breath from walking countless miles through the Javits Center, Subaru has released a brief video of design boss Osamu Namba describing some of the exterior styling elements of the sporty concept sedan.
While this video is just your basic walkaround that gives no mention of the concept's inspiration or what we can expect from the next-generation WRX, it is still fun to watch Namba explain many of the car's design elements including the more aggressive face, the quadruple exhaust outlets and the signature flared wheel arches and side outlet fender vents. If you liked the WRX Concept as much as we did, scroll down to watch this short video.

Subaru BRZ to get second generation, says exec

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Hallelujah friends, hallelujah. One of the highest voices in Subaru's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, has just said that the boxer-obsessed automaker will release a second generation of the lovable BRZ.
Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, president of FHI, has summarily shot down assertions made by Tetsuya Tada, the chief engineer for the Toyota GT86. In a recent interview with an Australian publication, Tada claimed that Subaru had not decided whether it would be involved in the followup effort to the rear-drive coupe, and even speculated that the Toyota could team with BMW for a second-gen car, instead.
"If I were to be told that, I'd pass out. It's not going to be just one generation," Yoshinaga-san told Automotive News.
