2005 Subaru Legacy Station Wagon:  This is a great running car.  The engine cranks right up and runs strong with great response.  The transmission is very sound and shifts flawlessly through all gears as it should.  The interior of this Subaru is in very good condition as you can see from the pictures.  It has been professionally detailed and the carpets were shampooed and it is odorless inside.  It has power locks and windows all in working condition.  I have been driving this car for some time and it runs superbly.  I had the rear rotors and break pads replaced.  The front breaks were fine.  I also replaced both front axles and the car handles excellent with no noise or vibrations.  The rear tail light was cracked and I had that replaced as well.  I also put a brand new battery in it and the alternator is charging as it should.  The air conditioner was also repaired and blows ice cold.  My mechanic examined the timing belt in my presence and looks to have been replaced recently and is in excellent condition.  It is used and does have a few dings.  It has a small rust spot which can be easily repaired.  There is a small tear in the rear seat and some wear under the driver's side floor mat.  Other than that, it is a great Subaru ready for another hundred thousand miles.  It has brand new Michelin tires on the rear and I will replace the front tires within the week to match.

The engine in this car runs quiet and smooth, and it is a pleasure to drive.  I had my mechanic go through and thoroughly examine all areas in need of repair, and he did a fantastic job.  I met a guy at the gas station the other day that had 465k miles on his Subaru Legacy.  They are well made and built to last.

I have a clear title for the winning bidder.  I will be placing some new floor mats in it on top of the originals and it comes with a full tank of gas, my compliments.  Please email me at gcupp3@juno.com with any questions, or through ebay.  It also passed Virginia inspection in March of this year.  Thanks, Greg.

2014 Subaru Forester scores 5 stars in NHTSA crash test [w/video]

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Having aced the crash test from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earning the highest rating of Top Safety Pick+, the 2014 Subaru Forester headed over to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a date with destruction. In the barrage of NHTSA tests, the new Forester met similar results as it did with the IIHS, earning a five-star overall crash rating.
Comparing these number to the previous model, which carried a four-star rating in all areas, the new Forester did much better in the side-impact test to earn a full five stars; frontal and rollover ratings were still at four stars like the old model, but the improved side crashworthiness was enough to gain the NHTSA's highest overall rating. The frontal impact video is posted below, but all the various test videos can be seen on NHTSA's website.

Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.

Subaru WRX STI gets all gymkhana slidey in new European ad

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

A good partner makes sacrifices for a significant other. They aren't always fun, but sometimes chores have to be done. Subaru's European ad for its new WRX STI clearly understands that dynamic, as it shows what to what lengths a guy is willing to go in order to get his lady some bread in time for breakfast. Of course, running errands in a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sports sedan down picturesque roads is hardly drudgery.
The wordless ad for the WRX STI says everything you could ever want to know about the winged blue Subaru. It expertly mixes some fantastic gravel rally footage with just a bit of inspiration from Ken Block's Gymkhana videos, as well. The automaker makes the right choice of actually letting the audience hear the growly exhaust and squealing tires over the music, too.
If this was your daily route to the bakery, you'd probably be prepared for a round of the World Rally Championship within a couple of months. Scroll down to watch the Subaru ad about a very polite WRX STI owner making sure breakfast is on the table.
