California Subaru 1999 Awd Snow Tires Driven Daily Reliable Basic Transportation on 2040-cars
Stateline, Nevada, United States
This is a driven daily well used car that would be a great basic transportation for this winter. Please note that I will be adding many more photos tomorrow. This photo is merely a place holder so please be patient. The body has plenty or scratches but hasn't been abused. I put about 80,000 highway miles on this car in the past three years or so. The transmission has always waited about a few seconds when you first start it into drive and then after that occurs, the other times when hot it does not. It also while going up a mountain hill strongly (when going from second to drive has hesistated and the engaged. Neither of these issues has changed over the years but I believe that is why the original owner donated this car years ago. Other than plugs and wires put into it recently and brake pads, it hasn't needed anything. The A/C works fine as the does the heater and the cruise and the radio etc. Its a basic transportation car. I have a 2.2L Subaru and I have moved to that car for fuel efficiency instead of this 2.5L. This car has a ski rack on the top and many photos will be added later. Please wait to bid until I load the photos.

Subaru Legacy Concept has us getting our hopes up
Wed, 20 Nov 2013It happens all the time. We get excited about a really attractive Subaru concept, and then the production car comes out and, well, "disappointed" isn't a strong enough word. (Compare that hot Impreza concept to the final production car.) So while we're hopeful that this new Legacy concept previews something sleek for Subaru, allow us to be fully on record as not getting our hopes up.
Anyway, let's talk about how good this car looks. From the front, comparisons to the Buick Regal GS are warranted, but from all other angles, it has a very four-door coupe-like shape. The concept rides on 21-inch wheels with bulging wheel arches that Subaru says hints at the car's all-wheel-drive system (standard Subaru fare, BRZ aside).
As for what exactly this concept previews, the safe guess is, of course, the next-generation Legacy midsize sedan. And while we'll keep our fingers crossed for a sweet-looking production sedan to come out of Fuji Heavy in the near future, it's safe to say we're still skeptical.
Subaru lifts leg at Super Bowl, goes with Puppy Bowl ads instead
Mon, 28 Jan 2013There will be many automakers spending millions upon millions of dollars advertising in the Super Bowl next weekend, but Subaru will not be one of them. Instead, the automaker will be catering toward animal - specifically dog - lovers with a set of commercials for the 2014 Subaru Forester that will appear during Puppy Bowl IX on Animal Planet.
The ads all build on Subaru's reputation of being a dog-friendly brand, and its latest "Dog Tested. Dog Approved" campaign will feature four 20-second spots. Of the four, "Tailgate" and "On The Lot" are definitely the most entertaining, while "Let's Talk Financing" and, especially, "Lint Roller" are snoozers.
Scroll down to watch all four spots, and there's also a press release listing other initiatives Subaru is planning to attract dog lovers. If you like dog commercials, you should check out the newest spot from Volkswagen, too.
Subaru WRX hatchback mule spotted
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Despite on-again, off-again rumors, this latest set of spy shots seems to indicate that yes, a five-door Subaru WRX is indeed in the works. Subtlety is key with this test mule, but there are clear bits of evidence that indicate a hotter hatchback is what's being developed here.
First, notice the WRX-spec front fascia grafted onto this ordinary-looking Impreza hatch. From there, we can clearly see the tiny bit of added width - most obvious on the roof and at the rear, near the fuel door and taillamps. And of course, let's not forget about that bulge in the hood, consisting of a metal panel that covers the hood scoop and can apparently be removed thanks to a series of screws, according to our spies. The WRX's more robust exhaust and larger wheel/tire package have not been added to this mule, though we're told that this is commonplace for Subaru prototypes - those bits should be added on as the car's development progresses.
We fully expect a WRX hatchback to be, well, just that - mechanically, it should be identical to the sedan brethren, though our spies indicate that Subaru could be testing an updated version of the WRX-spec boxer engine. Of course, there's always a chance that this could be something else entirely, given the on-and-off reports of the five-door 'Rex's existence in the first place...
