I have up for sale my 2002 WRX AWD wagon with a 2004 STI Sedan front clip conversion. What this means is, instead of the 02 front sheet metal and headlights, it has the sheet metal and lights from a 2004 STI. The car has 107k on it currently. It has the 2.0 Turbo intercooled engine with a factory rating of 227 HP and a 5-speed manual transmission. The interior is stock and clean.   Back windows are tinted and it has the carbon fiber interior trim. It includes power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise, air, tilt, and 6 disc in dash CD player. In the last 1000 miles the motor received a new gates timing belt, new water pump, and all new pulleys. It has an aftermarket header, up pipe and down pipe for exhaust. Cold air intake and Walbro fuel pump. Brakes are good all the way around and has 18 inch wheels with new 225/40/18 inch tires. The car has the sedan front end on it with the remaining body being stock with the exception of the rear wing. It is a nice running/looking WRX. It is very dark blue in color (midnight blue) but looks almost black. This car does have a prior salvage title, meaning it was involved in a accident, repaired and state inspected and retitled. It had front end damage, sheet metal, strut and NO air bags deployed. Subaru parts were used on all the repairs. Please if interested, talk to your bank first and let them know it has a prior salvage title. I have had many deals in the past fall through at the last moment because the party did not tell their bank it was prior salvage car. I am asking $9,000. Need the money so not really looking to trade unless it was more in my favor, beings I would just be selling the trade anyways. You can call or text me at 563-451-3908. Leave message , and I will get back to you as I don't get good cell service where I live.   Thanks for looking.

Subaru reveals WRX STI racecar for 24 Hours of N"urburgring [w/video]

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Subaru has announced that it will be running a race-spec version of the upcoming WRX STI in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in June. The 2014 race will mark the seventh year in a row that Subaru has campaigned a car at the day-long Ring race, but this will be the first race outing for the new WRX STI, which isn't set to debut until next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
Subaru will be in the SP3T class, for turbocharged engines displacing 1.75 to 2.0 liters, and is targeting its third class win, after finishing second last year. To do that, it'll be going toe-to-toe with racing versions of cars from Audi, Volkswagen and Seat.
The team will be led by Hideharu Tatsumi, who was responsible for last year's team. Drivers will include Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, while another pair of European drivers will be announced at a later date.

2014 Subaru WRX and STI pricing announced

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

As the sun prepares to set on the third-generation Subaru WRX, Subaru has released the pricing for the 2014 WRX and WRX STI. With redesigned versions of both cars due out next year, prices for the current car have risen by just $200 across the entire 2014 lineup resulting in new starting MSRPs of $25,995 for the WRX and $34,495 for the more powerful WRX STI (*not including destination).
The destination charge has also crept up for the 2014 WRX and WRX STI models climbing slightly from $770 to $795. A final pricing adjustment for this bodystyle's send-off year is that the optional navigation system went from $1,000 in 2013 up to $1,100 for 2014. Scroll down for the full model pricing breakdown, and keep a lookout for the all-new 2015 WRX and WRX STI, which we'd expect to see in production form in the coming months.

This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86

Sun, 10 Feb 2013

Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
