2001 Subaru Forester S Wagon 4-door 2.5l, 88k Miles, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, United States
2001 Subaru Forester S. AWD. 88,079 miles. Heated cloth seats. Good condition. No accidents.
Non-smoker vehicle. NO RESERVE auction. The engine in this 2001 Subaru Forester S runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly. The car does not have any mechanical issues. Cosmetically, the car is in good but not
perfect condition. The paint has a number of surface scratches and a few deeper scratches. There are not any noticeable dents or dings on the vehicle. The interior looks pretty good with the
exception of a few scratches on the door plastic and typical wear in the driver and passenger footwell carpets for a car of this age.
I have uploaded a number of close-up pictures so that potential purchasers can
properly assess the condition of the car. Overall, this is a nice, reliable, and inexpensive daily driver. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. Car is available for pick up in northern New Jersey (about 30 miles outside of New York City). $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close via Paypal. Remaining balance due within 7 days (cash or cashier's/bank check). Thanks for looking at this listing. Good luck bidding. |

2013 Subaru Outback Limited
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Subaru has given the 2013 Outback a host of detail changes and updates, though you'd hardly know from looking at it. The mild exterior changes mostly go unnoticed, and if you're comparing on a numbers basis, the new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is bang-on what the old engine would do. The biggest news is EyeSight, Subaru's new stereo camera-based system that drives lane-departure warning, active cruise control, automatic emergency braking and forward collision alert functions.
The 2013 Outback spent some time in my driveway, and as far as jacked-up wagons with off-road cladding go, this is one of the most affordable of the lot. That doesn't mean it's cheap; the Outback I tried was a Limited model with moonroof, navigation, EyeSight, leather and CVT added on. That takes the Outback from its roughly $25,000 starting point and adds nearly $10,000, landing solidly in the mid-$30,000 range. Still, against its most natural competitors like the Volvo XC70 and Audi A6 Avant, the Outback is a better value.
DRIVING NOTES
Subaru readies BRZ RA Racing for Japanese trackdays
Sun, 27 Jan 2013As if we needed any more reasons to take a Subaru BRZ to the track, Subaru has just announced that it will be producing a racing-spec version of the car straight from the assembly line. The only problem is that the BRZ RA Racing is being offered for the Japanese domestic market only, and won't be visiting any road courses in the US any time soon.
To get the BRZ ready for some serious track time, Subaru added brake ducts beneath the front fascia, removable tow hooks and an oil cooler behind the grille. Inside, the car gets a factory six-point roll cage (including custom-fit floor mats) and a four-point race harness for the driver. Now we get to pricing where US enthusiasts will get even more miffed. The entire suite of racing add-ons increases the BRZ's price by 31,500 yen, which converts to less than $350 US; the total price of the car converts to right around $31,500 US.
There is a brief press release posted below, which has been translated (somewhat poorly) by Google.
2013 Subaru WRX Special Edition
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Two months ago, I was carving pumpkins in a canyon - last week, I was carving canyons in a pumpkin. I genuinely prefer the latter.
It's hard to miss the 2013 Subaru WRX Special Edition. The twins (the automaker is offering the package on both the WRX and its higher-performing STI sibling - just 300 copies in total) arrive in Tangerine Orange paint with Jet Black wheels, black exterior mirrors and black front fender badges. The purely cosmetic upgrades are carried inside the cabin with black cloth upholstery contrasted with orange stitching on the seats, doors, shift boot and piping on the floor mats.
After a day, I completely forgot about the controversial orange paint (you either love or hate its burnt pumpkin color) and focused on the simple joy of driving the rally-inspired Subaru WRX.
