2008 Saturn Sky

I bought the car with a salvage title. It had only bumper and hood damage.

I replaced these and the air bag and the car now has a clear title and is in almost perfect condition with about 17,856 miles on it.

The Title says "not actual mileage". When I purchased the car the only info visible where the mileage would be was the phrases

"Reduced Engine Power" and "Air Bag Deployed".

After fixing the air bag and cycling through the info button.

which was located on the steering wheel, the mileage displayed again...14,199 miles!

Though it shows 3 owners, it has had the original and me as drivers.

The 2nd owner was the company that sold the car for the insurance company.

This vehicle has been inspected by the Highway Patrol division which specializes in salvage titles.

It received the highest rating and is NOT a rebuilt title car but has a CLEAR title.

Only minimal/minor repair qualifies this car for a CLEAR title.

There are only a few states which allow this and Mississippi is one of them.

The bumper was purchased from the GM factory. The hood I purchased from another Sky owner in Tampa.

He gave me the dual exhaust system w/facia and a low profile antenna that is on my Sky.

He also gave me the decals/stripes for the trunk area of the car. They'll go with the purchase of the car.

God Bless!

David

GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected

Tue, 20 May 2014

General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years

GM calling in 56k Saturn Aura sedans over shift cables

Thu, 08 May 2014

General Motors may have made a few mistakes when it came to the whole ignition-switch debacle, and it will likely be dealing with the consequences for some time to come. But you have to hand it to Mary Barra and her team, because they're determined to clean house and avoid the same mistakes. That's why the biggest of the Big Three automakers in Detroit has been issuing recalls left, right and Renaissance Center. Aside from those vehicles fitted with the faulty ignition switches, GM has recalled over 50,000 Cadillac SRXs, another 50 heavy-duty pickups and some 51,000 full-size crossovers. There are bound to be more to come, and now it's issued another 50k-unit recall over faulty shift cables in the transmission.
The recall affects 2007 and 2008 Saturn Auras fitted with the four-speed automatic transmission manufactured between April 24, 2006, and October 31, 2007. The recall doesn't affect models equipped with the six-speed automatic, or for that matter any of the Aura's Epsilon platform-mates like the Chevy Malibu, Pontiac G6, Opel Signum and Vectra, Saab 9-3 or - carrying over from Fiat's aborted partnership with GM - the Fiat Croma, although many of those models used the same 4T40 transmission employed in the Aura.
In the affected vehicles, the shift cable might fracture while in motion, preventing the transmission from shifting into Park or the ignition from switching off, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration figures could lead to the car rolling away. Hence the recall of 56,214 units in the United States, owners of which can expect to hear from their dealership in due course to have the necessary components replaced.

Report: Saturn owners offered $2,000 to stick with GM products

Mon, 15 Feb 2010

After its decision to euthanize Oldsmobile, General Motors knows exactly what happens when it mothballs one of its brands: GM loses market share to the competition. The General is trying to stop history from repeating itself with Saturn customers by offering $2,000 on the hood of every car and crossover donning the ringed planet badge. Automotive News says the offer actually started on February 2 and runs until the end of March. To be eligible for the $2,000 bounty Saturn owners must have leased or purchased their Saturn at least six months ago. Interestingly, those owners don't even have to turn in their Saturn to be eligible for the cash.
AN reports that research company R.L. Polk says even before Saturn went on the endangered species list, it lagged other GM nameplates in the all-important aspect of customer retention. The mass exodus from Saturn loyalty predictably intensified at the end of 2008 as customers became anxious over the future of the brand. For its part, GM insists that all Saturn warranties will be upheld and customers looking for service can still go to a GMC, Chevy, Buick or Cadillac dealership.
