I am the second owner of this car, and I have been told by my mechanic that this Saab 900 Turbo convertible is the best condition that he has come across. The leather upholstery is in very good condition and has no cracks. The canvass top was replaced in 2002, and a new transmission was installed in 2003. Recently, the head gasket was replaced in 2012 and all of the hoses were checked. Most recent service was conducted in 2013 where the front CV boots were replaced and the rear brake pads were replaced in addition to new brake lines being installed. In 2010 I had the car stripped down to bare metal and had the car repainted with the original clear coat factory color: beryl green. Since then, this car has turned heads wherever I have driven it. It has been meticulously maintained by a mechanic that deals specifically with classic 900s. Oil changes have been performed religiously every 3,000 miles. This car also has the three-piece boot cover for the convertible top as well as the light bulb kit and tool set. A beautiful convertible for spring, summer and fall. NEV deal to buy Saab delayed
Fri, 03 Aug 2012Remember a month and a half ago when we told you that Saab will "soldier on?" Well, we should have written "stand at attention."
According to SaabsUnited, the deal for National Electric Vehicle Sweden to buy the remaining Saab assets didn't close on schedule. In fact, it's been delayed by "a month, perhaps more." NEVS also seems to have indicated that it's not going to be answering any more questions about the deal until it's completed.
NEVS is supposedly planning on building electric cars based on the design that would have been the next-generation 9-3. The company itself is a partnership between a Chinese energy company and a Japanese investment group.
Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.
Nicolas Cage flogs Saab-based Senova from Beijing Auto [w/video]
Mon, 13 May 2013BAIC has officially pulled the covers off of its new Senova D Series sedan for China. The four-door is based on the old Saab 9-5 and boasts a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Local buyers can get their hands on the machine for around $22,745 at current conversion rates. Other engine options include a turbocharged 1.8-liter four cylinder as well as turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, and a wide range of safety equipment comes standard on every trim except the very base model. Those goodies include a tire pressure monitoring system, active head restraints, blind spot detection, driver fatigue detection and parking sensors.
The Senova nameplate serves every model based on former Saab architectures, including the Epsilon, GM2900 and GM2400 platforms as well as engine and transmission tech. In order to promote its new products, BAIC has hired Hollywood staple Nicolas Cage to serve as the company's brand ambassador.
