I have no idea how long this has persisted - the previous owner described it rolling double miles as well. THIS WOULD EXPLAIN THE LOW AUTOCHECK SCORE - which I always take with a grain of salt!! I would much rather have a car that has recently had over $5,000.00 of FULLY DOCUMENTED REPAIRS!!!

I am 47 years old and have owned over 20 of these classic 900 convertibles!!!!! My first was a 1983 TURBO in 1986 in college..... boy was I cutting edge!! I have owned my 2002 VIGGEN CONVERTIBLE FOR THE LAST DECADE AS MY DAILY DRIVER! (230hp and 32mpg highway). I LIVED IN EUROPE FOR 15 YEARS. I OWNED MY 2 FERRARI 348 SPIDERS AND HUMMER 1 CONVERTIBLES FOR 5 YEARS EACH! I HAVE 5 CHILDREN 4,6,8,10,12 WHICH KEEP ME VERY BUSY - I LOVE TO WORK ON EUROPEAN CARS AS A HOBBY TO SPEND PERSONAL TIME IN THE GARAGE TO KEEP MY SANITY!!!!! OUR MERCEDES 2000 ML55 NOT PICTURED IS THE AMG 7 SEAT FAMILY CAR for the last 10yrs. I HAVE A PASSION FOR GREAT CARS AT GREAT PRICES, Unfortunately I paid the entire $70,000 for the ML55!! BUT FERRARI'S AT 60K OR SAAB'S AT UNDER 7K are much better buys. This 1990 WAS $33,000 NEW and still N.A.D.A. books at $8,850 or even $6,275 at average retail.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK ON ALL SPEEDS, squirters stopped working on trip home, I KNOW the LITTLE pump works, could be that the control arm on steering column is the culprit? The antenna ONLY raises and lowers by hand BUT WORKS PERFECTLY! The 2 front seats move manually and ARE NOT ELECTRIC! The extra modules on the dash are NOT my personal favorite - I LOVE FACTORY ORIGINAL - BUT can be removed easily! They are completely functional and give air/fuel mixture readings, voltage metering and PSI turbo boost readings.
PLEASE NOTICE THE EXTREMELY CLEAN UNDER CARRIAGE! NO RUST!
After the car has been sitting for a while, there are small drops of engine oil and power steering fluid - very reminiscent of my 35yr old Harley Davidson. Cosmetic - NO NEED to check fluid levels as there is NO OIL USAGE OR BURNING while driving!!! THAT SHOULD BE EVERYTHING!!

NEVS to build new Saab models in China's Qingdao
Thu, 10 Jan 2013National Electric Vehicle Sweden has officially signed a deal with Qingdao Qingbo Investment Company that will see the NEVS build EVs in Qingdao, China. The move is the first step on the road toward eventually selling vehicles in China. Reuters reports that the Chinese company has agreed to invest $307.33 million, after which point Qingdao Qingbo will receive 22 percent of the NEVS shares. Currently, there's no word on exactly when the funds and shares will change hands, but the Swedish automaker has previously said it fully intends to launch its first EV by early 2014.
NEVS has also made waves about potentially building a version of the old Saab 9-3 with a traditional internal combustion driveline. Currently, the manufacturer says it plans to ship the vehicles it builds in Sweden to the Qingdao port and distribute them to the rest of China from there. Later down the line, a manufacturing facility in Qingdao will supply the country with Chinese-built Saab models.
Saab owner may speed up relaunch with gas-powered 9-3
Wed, 21 Nov 2012National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owner of Saab, has good news for you if you happened to miss out on picking up a 9-3 before the company plummeted through bankruptcy. Automotive News Europe reports NEVS may offer a gasoline-powered 9-3 in 2013. That move would effectively step up the brand's re-launch plan by a full year. Originally, the company planned to introduce an electric vehicle in 2014, but NEVS is currently investigating ways to start production next summer using "a 9-3 with a traditional powertrain" in order to generate more cash for the electrification effort.
NEVS purchased Saab earlier this year with the intent of resurrecting the brand with a fully electric product portfolio. The new EVs would theoretically ride on the Saab Phoenix platform and be manufactured at the automaker's plant in Trollhattan, Sweden. The report of a resurrected gasoline model came courtesy of Mikael Oestlund, a company spokesperson familiar with the company's workings.

Fri, 22 Jun 2012If you've been wanting to get your hands on one last new Saab but missed out on the great Saab sell-off when Saab Cars North America declared bankruptcy, well, your ship has now come in.
Actually, it came in last year - but hundreds of new Saabs got waylaid at ports in California and New Jersey because of the bankruptcy, according to SaabWorld.net. Those cars are now slated for auction, some 900 of them, which will be available for dealers, exporters and rental car companies to bid on beginning next week. Eventually, 300 of these cars should make their way to Saab dealers, where they're expected to be sold off at 30- to 50-percent discounts. The other 600 will either be exported or used as rentals, according to the report, so "the price of Saabs will not be severely depressed."
Besides the new cars, some 67 company cars, including some interesting stuff like a 1960 Saab Quantum IV and a 1970 Sonnett III, will also be auctioned off, according to the report. Of the new cars, just over half are 9-5 models, some 400 are 9-3 sedans, another 60 are 9-3 wagons, and about a dozen are convertibles. According to the report, 28 are actually 9-4X crossovers, which is more than 10 percent of Saab's total 2011 sales for that model.
