2004 Saab 9-3 aero 6-speed manual transmission 2.0 liter turbocharged Xenon headlights I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 sedan aero edition. All maintenance is up to date. Just had a recent oil change, coolant flush, rotors resurfaced. This car is a dream to drive, front wheel drive performs excellently in the snow. 2.0 liter turbo charged engines delivers 210hp. It accelerates nicely and is very responsive. Interior: The interior is 8.5/10. 2 toned leather interior, no rips or tears in the seats. The only flaws are the heater buttons are worn (very common). Replacement buttons are available, it just never bothered me enough to replace them. This car is loaded with all the options, 6 disc cd, heated seats, sunroof, dual climate control, saabs on board computer, etc. etc. Exterior: The silver paint still shines nicely. There are a few scratches/scapes around the car, they can be seen in the pictures. The worst is probably the front lip spoiler (common with low profile cars). It is a little dirty in the pictures, but you get the idea... The paint isn't sun faded or peeling. It is equipped with standard aero spoiler and ground effects kit. Engine, Trans, Misc: The engine has been well maintained and has low miles for a saab. There are no leaks, noises, or check engine lights. The transmission shifts smoothly through all 6 gears, the clutch was replaced about 10k miles ago. Everything works as it should, I would have no hesitation driving this car anywhere. With a little tlc this car would be perfect. We are only selling because we need a minivan. Please ask any questions before bidding. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Please look at the pictures for an accurate description of the vehicle. |

National Electric Vehicle stops Saab 9-3 production amidst financing woes
Tue, 20 May 2014It seems that quirky, Swedish automaker Saab might be on life support yet again. Its owner, National Electric Vehicle Sweden, has announced that it's reducing its workforce and temporarily halting production of the 9-3 due to financial problems. NEVS was only building six cars a day, anyway.
The company put out a press release admitting its economic woes, but it still appeared hopeful. NEVS claims it's developing "a new platform on the Phoenix architecture," and it has a frame agreement with an international automotive OEM. It didn't give any specific details about either one of these assertions though. According to The Wall Street Journal, NEVS needs the partnership to lower development costs in order to stay afloat. Saab spokesperson Mikael Ostlund told Autoblog in an email that the stop in production of the 9-3 in Trollhättan would last four weeks.
NEVS says it's in negotiation to sell a portion of the company to an automotive company. Its current monetary woes are caused by shareholder Qingbo Investment Company not financing the company as agreed. "We plan to have the results of the discussions at latest during June," said Ostlund.
Saab US bankruptcy plan gets legal green-light
Thu, 18 Jul 2013It feels utterly bizarre that we're still talking about Saab, but Reuters is reporting that the bankrupt Swedish manufacturer's American arm has gotten approval from the US Bankruptcy Court to liquidate its assets and pay back creditors. As part of the plan, secured creditors like Ally Financial will receive full repayment. Unsecured creditors, consisting of those affected by abandoned leases and contracts will get anywhere from 25 to 82 percent of their money back.
There are currently $77 million in unsecured claims, according to Reuters, but that number doesn't include claims from former Saab dealers. Naturally, the entire affair is full of lawyers and legalese. A trust formed on the Saab side will be negotiating with creditors and their affiliates in an attempt to reduce claims against Saab. This sounds like the start of a long and sordid affair...
Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.
