This Rolls Royce is a V8 Turbo, that runs strong and smooth. This car rides and shifts like a Rolls Royce should. Like driving on a cloud! No leaks, good hydraulics, and good brakes. This car has all the bells and whistles, and options. It has the rear tv monitors and front tv screen flip up monitor. It also has the picnic trays that fold down in the rear. It has the foot rests. The driver window sometimes wants to hesitate a little but it will go back up. The power seats work, and the heated seats work. It has front and rear ac , ice cold. It comes with a rebuilt wiper motor. The tires are 80% tread. The interior of this car is parchment color with black piping. The interior is very clean and the leather is in great condition, no rips or tears but the driver seat does show some wear. This car was involved at one time in a minor accident, the right side fender was hit deploying the passenger side air bag. The dash was put back but the airbag was not. The damage to the front was professionally repaired to Rolls Royce specification. The previous owner did not want to spend $1400 for the airbag, so it was left out. The paint is good on the car, there are a couple very small buff burns in paint. nothing too noticeable. This is a $40,000 car. Bid to win! No Reserve! Please NO DREAMERS!!! Rolls-Royce sketching out SUV for possible 'late 2017' release
Wed, 14 May 2014With each new story on the Rolls-Royce SUV, the Goodwood automaker comes off as more at ease with their reluctantly birthed yet necessary sport ute. Company design chief Giles Taylor told Autocar that his team is still "sketching to assess the viability of the concept," which to ours ears means they're trying to figure out if such a beast is even possible within the confines of the brand. If it is, Taylor says it will be "a shooting brake, not a crossover with a sloping roof. A proper SUV."
A different company source, unnamed, seems confident that Taylor's team will figure it out, telling the magazine it would start at 200,000 pounds ($335K US). However, that same source said the vehicle will be "a kind of Mercedes-GLK-plus-plus," which is a baffling description in several ways. More reasonable is the speculation that it will ride on Ghost, not Phantom, architecture and make its debut sometime around late 2017.
That Ghost platform is expected to take cues from the carbon, aluminum and steel bones that supported the BMW Vision Future Luxury concept shown at the Beijing Motor Show and destined for the 9 Series. Some of those tricks will also go into the next-generation Phantom, which Autocar says will come in 2017 and not 2020.
2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith is everything you need, everything you don't [w/videos]
Wed, 06 Mar 2013It's not often that we get to talk about a new Rolls-Royce, what with the fact that the company's current model line is basically made up of two vehicles. But that all changes here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, with the introduction of what might be the most emotional Roller of modern times, the Wraith.
The new two-door Rolls is effectively a Ghost coupe, and it stands to reason that this is Royce's answer to the Bentley Continental GT, albeit at a higher price point. Much higher, actually - the 245,000-euro - $320k USD - price of entry for the Wraith is about $100,000 more than a Continental GT Speed coupe. Woof. And to our eyes, all that extra money isn't buying you much in the looks department, as the collective opinion of the Autoblog editors on-site in Geneva is that it's more imposing than elegant.
But the Wraith will no doubt be a special, exclusive, impressive machine for anyone who plunks down that sort of cash. For starters, it's powered by a V12 that puts out an impressive 624 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque mated to an eight-speed ZF "Satellite Aided" transmission. This nifty cog-swapper actually works with GPS to not only pre-select the right gear for the portion of road you're on, but for the next portion of you'll be driving on, as well. That, friends, is cool.
Watch this Rolls-Royce Phantom get grassy knees
Mon, 17 Dec 2012Here's a pro tip: if you're going to fire your chauffeur, make sure he hands over the keys to your Rolls-Royce Phantom first. If you don't, you just might wind up with scene like the one in the video below on your hands. In it, some sprightly soul decides to eschew the beaten path for a quick frolicking over hill and dale in the luxury leviathan. The grounds will never be the same. Grass, mud and water are all sent scattering as the Rolls-Royce proceeds to pound the earth into submission.
There's also a few smoky burnouts thrown in for good measure. We can appreciate any shenanigans with a high-dollar automobile that don't end in wrinkled sheetmetal. You can check out the full glory of the sideways Phantom in the video below.
