Up for auction is a 1986 Rolls Royce Silver Spur. I bought it from the estate of a friend that passed away 4 years ago. It has been sitting inside, in a garage, for all of this time. As you can see from the pictures, the car has front end damage as well as some nicks and dings from sitting in the garage. The car was running when it was parked, but Im sure the fuel is bad so we have not tried to start it. It does turn over and has spark. The car is very rebuildable, interior is in decent shape, the wood needs attention but is not too bad, and I have the front bumper, which is straight, the hood is fixable but bent, 2 head lights in the box, one trim ring, one front side marker, and as you can see, I have the grille with mascot on it. The other option is, it would be an excellent parts car, with thousands of $$$ of parts . I will not give this car away but will sell for a reasonable bid. I also will assist with shipping and can get it most places in the US for $600 or less. Please feel free to email with any questions. Man drives Rolls-Royce for 78 years then makes museum donation to ensure its preservation
Thu, 27 Dec 2012Mr. Allen Swift died in 2005 at the impressive age of 102, but his automotive story is even more remarkable. Not only is the gentleman credited with owning a Rolls-Royce automobile longer than anyone else in the world, but he had the forethought and funds to ensure its future preservation after his death.
In 1928, while living in Springfield, Massachusetts, Swift's father gave him a 1928 Rolls-Royce Piccadilly P1 Roadster as a graduation present (Springfield and Rolls-Royce have a history - from 1920 to 1931, the British automaker built 2,944 vehicles in the city as part of its attempt to establish a US plant). The young man was passionate about his green-over-green softtop convertible, not only driving it on a regular basis, but maintaining it meticulously over the decades (the two door-received a complete body-off restoration and engine rebuild in 1988).
Rolls-Royce acknowledged Mr. Swift in 1994, awarding him a crystal Spirit of Ecstasy award for his length of ownership. By 2005, Swift had logged more than 170,000 miles on its analog odometer and he was recognized as the oldest living person to have owned a car from new. He passed away that year.
Rolls-Royce seriously considering SUV
Mon, 16 Sep 2013A Rolls-Royce Phantom may be the size of an SUV, and the Ghost isn't that much smaller. Still, according to reports, the high-end British automaker is seriously evaluating the prospect of adding a proper sport-ute or crossover to its lineup.
The news comes courtesy of Bloomberg, which spoke to Rolls-Royce chief executive Torsten Müller-Ötvös at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Although the rumor of a potential Rolls off-roader has been floating around for several months now, this is the first we've seen of the company confirming the possibility.
The development would follow similar projects being undertaken by rival automakers. Former sister-brand Bentley is preparing to launch an SUV, Jaguar revealed its own concept crossover at the same show, Maserati is gearing up to start production of the Levante and even Aston Martin has considered the idea of a crossover.
Rolls-Royce celebrates Maharajas with special Phantom DHC

It's that golden age that Rolls-Royce celebrates with the debut of this one-of-a-kind luxury cabriolet.
Based on the Phantom Drophead Coupe, this unique Maharaja edition is distinguished by such special touches as Carrara White paint embellished with a peacock motif, emerald green coachline, a deep green top (hood in UK terminology), light creme leather interior with green accents, marquetry inlays and custom seashell embroidery.
Said to be two years in the making by the Rolls-Royce Bespoke division, this one-off Phantom DHC was unveiled not in India, but in Dubai, where a fascination with the Golden Age of the Raja is evidently alive and well.
