Kachel Motor Company Presents - 1982 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit with a Garnet Exterior, Beige leather interior, 6.8L V8 Engine, Automatic transmission, 22,915 miles, 2nd owner since 1983 2k miles. Excellent condition inside and out, meticulously maintained from the day it was purchased, Mahogany wood dashboard and door trim. Tires were replaced 4k ago, oil services performed every 3k, all maintenance up to date. This is a truly magnificent hand built automobile. This is definitely the best one out there, this one has a couple of quirks but very minor, 1) the control switch on the drivers door for the passenger window does not work, it works fine from the direct switch 2) the air conditioning is not cold and has not been converted to 134a 3) there are some rock chips in the nose of the car. 4) the leather needs to be conditioned and possibly re dyed but it is all intact and the car is very comfortable 5) the car has no catalytic converter and will not pass CA emissions, it is exempt in nearly every other location including MA where it passed state inspection without any issue at all. Rick Ross crashes Rolls-Royce in drive-by attempt [w/video]
Tue, 29 Jan 2013Rap star and exotic-car enthusiast, Rick Ross, had a double-close call on Monday morning, escaping harm in what appears to be an attempted drive-by shooting.
According to Fort Lauderdale Police, Ross was driving his 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost (pictured) with his girlfriend, Shateria Moragne-el, as a passenger at 5:00 AM on Monday. An unnamed gunman in another vehicle opened fire on Ross' car, causing the rapper to turn a corner, lose control of the vehicle and eventually crash into the wall of an apartment complex. Neither Ross nor Moragne-el was injured, despite reports that "dozens" of ammo casings were found at the crime scene.
Ross had been out celebrating his birthday on Sunday night; at nearby restaurant Floridian and a club called LIV in Miami Beach. Reports indicate that the restaurant was also the target of gunfire - some 15 shots that "sounded like they came from a high-powered rifle."
Corniche Comeback: New Rolls-Royce coupe spotted testing
Wed, 25 Jul 2012It's been over a decade since Rolls-Royce last offered a Corniche, which was the company's name for its unibody coupe and convertible models since the early 1970s. But from the looks of what our photographers recently snapped in Munich, that drought may soon be over.
What they've spied is the 2014 Rolls-Royce Corniche coupe, a forthcoming model based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Never mind the fake door handles and rear doors on the test mules, the production Corniche will have just two suicide doors like its big brother the Phantom coupe.
Powertrain will probably be carried over from the Ghost sedan, meaning a 6.6-liter V12. We suspect that BMW will roll out its new Roller at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. Until then, our spies will keep their eyes open for more prototypes, including the oft-rumored convertible.
Rolls-Royce looks to the heavens with diamond-encrusted Celestial Phantom
Wed, 06 Nov 2013The Middle East is a vital market for Rolls-Royce, particularly in the Gulf emirates. So the British automaker wouldn't let the region's premier auto show go by unnoticed, and to that end has rolled into the Dubai Motor Show with an array of special editions.
Chief among them is the Celestial edition Phantom, a customized limousine that initially debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show but has returned to Dubai with the addition of 446 diamonds hand-set into the door panels, center console and cabin privacy partition. Taking the spirit of the Phantom's trademark starlight headliner even further, the Celestial edition reproduces overhead the constellations exactly as they were on the evening of January 1, 2003, when Rolls-Royce delivered the first Phantom to its owner, as verified by the South Downs Planetarium in Chichester, England.
The Bespoke division also fitted the Celestial Phantom with inky blue leather, special glassware and a custom picnic set. The wheel hubs are also engraved and the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament uplit, demonstrating just a few of the possibilities awaiting those with the means not only to buy a new Rolls-Royce, but also commission special features from the Bespoke department.
