To my knowledge there are no mechanical issues with this car. I just installed a new battery and the tires have less than 500 miles on them."

Up for sale is my wife's 2002 Porsche Boxster.  One owner car, we bought it new.  It is in excellent condition.  It has 42,000 and a few miles.  It is basically a fourth vehicle for us so it does not get driven much anymore.  When she does drive it, it is from our garage to the garage where she works at the hospital on nice days.  It almost never see's the sun except when it is being driven.  It is almost always covered when it is in our garage.  The cover will be included in the auction.

The color combination on this thing is perfect with the Blue, the Grey top and the Arctic Silver touches in the interior.

This is a one owner car and has been well maintained. It has NEVER had any kind of fender bender/accident or major problem of any kind.  The 4 new Continental Tires have no more than 500 miles on them AND the battery was purchased yesterday. The Lapis Blue paint on this thing is excellent, there are a few very small road chips on the front consistent with a car of this age and mileage. When the tires were installed, I was told the brakes are fine...I would however replace in the future with ceramic pads just to keep the dust down.

Some upgrades to this car are as follows:

The stereo system was upgraded by the dealership when we purchased the vehicle.  They installed the power amp and the door speakers.  I installed the Porsche storage compartment with speakers as you can see in the pictures behind the seats.  You may have the Sirius set up as shown, but obviously you will have to pay for your own subscription!  I have also installed an 1/8th inch input for your mp3 player.  The system rocks!

If you have owned one of these cars you may well know how the rubber parts inside the car become gummy with age.  These parts were all removed and I had them professionally painted Porsche Arctic Silver and they look really good.  The Silver really complements the Blue and Grey of the car.

The engine on this car has never been "tinkered" with besides maintenance.   It is completely stock. It has been gently driven by my wife. The oil has always been changed with the recommended Mobil One Synthetic.

The alternator was recently replaced...(my bad...lesson learned, when you charge the battery make sure you disconnect it or you can fry the voltage regulator)

The interior is very clean besides a few stains on the floor matts.  The carpet beneath is in very good shape.

There is no fogging of the headlight lenses at all.  I recently installed "blue" halogen headlight bulbs.

The top is in great shape and the rear window is also in excellent shape for it's age.  Very little scratching/fogging!

There are two photos at the end that do show the two blemishes. The first is a small paint rub on the passenger side mirror and the second is a small scratch just in front of the passenger front tire.  These are fairly small, however I do want you to know about them.

The car will come with all the paper work I have since we bought it, two keys, one "emergency" key, all the spare tire, jack and parts are intact and included, The car cover and it's storage bag.

I want you to be happy with your purchase but I also want a smooth transaction, so please make sure this is the vehicle you want before you bid.  I encourage you to come look at the car.  If you have any questions, please contact me and I will try to help.  If you want to call me, please contact me and we will arrange it.  Please DO NOT ask me to end the auction early.  I will not do it.

You will have to pay any shipping costs but I will make myself available to make it a smooth process.  The car is ready to go if you want to come and drive it home.

Good Luck..It's a good car!

Porsche offers design walkthrough of Panamera Sport Turismo

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo was arguably the best concept car of 2012, and Porsche has been building upon that momentum by teasing us with videos of its first-ever station wagon design. After showing us some driving shots of the Sport Turismo, Porsche released a more in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at what it took to take the Panamera shooting brake from a full-scale clay model to the final product we saw on stage at the Paris Motor Show. In the video, Michael Mauer, Porsche style director, and Mitja Borkert, general manager advanced design style, both give a little insight about what went into creating the Sport Turismo Concept.
More than just a station wagon version of the Panamera, the Sport Turismo has a totally distinctive look nose to tail. Some of the key elements the designers touch on in the video include the Porsche-signature raised front fenders, the wide rear shoulders, the front wing inspired by the 918 Spyder, and even some of the car's unique touches, including the headlights and the three-dimensional "Porsche" lettering across the liftgate made from glass. One of the more exciting aspects of the concept - which is sadly just glossed over in the video - is the rear liftgate spoiler that features "variable aerodynamics" that sounds like it acts similar to the retractable spoiler on the current Panamera.
We still don't know if the Panamera Sport Turismo will make it into production, but if you want to see what went into creating this exciting concept car and see the different build phases designers went through to create the Paris show car, check out the video by scrolling below.

Gemballa reveals new Porsche 991-based GT convertible

Sun, 16 Sep 2012

Gemballa went through the ringer last year, but rebounded with products that signal a complete turnaround. The latest is the recently-released Porsche 911 Carrera S with a Gemballa GT aerodynamics and technology package. Aero-wise, it includes carbon fiber additions beginning with a front bumper wearing the classic Gemballa air intake design and a lower, angrier splitter. New side skirts run from wheel to wheel, the final piece being a rear bumper in three sculpted horizontal sections featuring a rear diffuser tucked between six rectangular exhaust tips.
No engine mods have been made, but the technology part of the tune - springs that are 30 millimeters shorter yet still able to work with the PASM system - is claimed to make the car faster. Bringing things to a halt is a new Brembo brake system hiding behind 21-inch GForged wheels that are lighter than Porsche's standard 20-inchers.
The Gemballa GT aero kit runs €19,860 ($26,070 U.S.), which includes paint and installation if you happen to be in Germany, and we're assuming that includes the suspension modification, brakes and sport exhaust. The GForged wheels are another €9,895 ($12,989 U.S.) depending on your choice of tire. Check out the press release below for more info, and the photo gallery above for all the angles.

Porsche 911 GT3 dukes it out with MP4-12C on track and GT-R on spectacular roads

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been a favorite among auto journalists and car enthusiasts alike, but with the introduction of the new 991-generation GT3, which is the first GT3 with electric power steering and no manual gearbox option, how does it stack up to the competition from McLaren and Nissan?
Evo's Jethro Bovingdon attempts to answer that question by pitting the rear-engine Porsche against the mid-engine McLaren MP4-12C on a racetrack and the front-engine, all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R on some amazing, twisty European back roads. We won't give away the victor of either comparison, but we will say that, in Evo's test, the McLaren's 141-horsepower advantage doesn't give it as much of an edge over the Porsche on a racetrack as one might think, and the lack of a manual gearbox and the inclusion of electric power steering on the GT3 isn't detrimental to enjoying the car on a back road.
Watch the video below to find out which car Bovingdon prefers on road and track - we think you'll be happy to see him drift around turns every chance he gets.
