S4 32k Miles, Guards Red, 5 Speed, Garaged Fla. Car, Perfect Orig.cond. on 2040-cars

Year:1987 Mileage:32868

Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania, United States

I purchased the car 3 years ago in Florida, it was brought there by the original owner in 2002, garage kept the whole time, and I purchase it and brought it to Pa., also garage kept, always. The interior is impeccable and there are no dash cracks or rips, just what you would expect from a car the was stored in the garage. I love these cars in any color but guards red w black interior is what makes the car fun. The 5 speed is even more fun and works perfectly, these cars are for touring but shifting brings the sports car feeling when you get on a back road. There are no scratches or dings and the paint is all original, I find no repainted areas anywhere. I've serviced everything over the three years I've owned the car, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, spark plugs, gas filter, rear diff, and much more. The underside has no rust anywhere and the same with the body, just what you would expect from a 30,000 mile car kept in a garage in Florida. Late model 928's are becoming very popular and it's very hard to find one that has low miles and from the South, so I regret selling after it took me two years to find the right car but I have 25 cars in my collection and it's time to downsize to 10, if I can. I am very educated in Porsche cars and own 5 currently and have owned more than 20 over my lifetime. I love to search for the best of the best even though finding a car with 32,000 miles pretty much takes care of the search, you can still end up with one that sat wrecked for 20 years and then fixed with low miles. I've been a collector for 35 years and don't own any of those cars. My last sale on ebay the buyer said, it was exactly what he hoped for, even better, after receiving it from the shipper. He bought it sight-unseen, 1982 300 Mercedes turbo diesel, with 50,000 miles, for more than you would think, but it was the right car. Feel free to call me at 570-460-6047 Art. Ask about my other cars as I am selling most of them.

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.

Porsche Cayenne GTS, base models revealed ahead of LA

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Porsche unveiled a slew of refreshed Cayennes just a few months ago, but the base model (right) and high-performance GTS trim (above) were conspicuously absent from that list. There's no more reason to wonder about them, though, because the German brand plans to unveil both at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19.
Sitting below the Turbo in the lineup, the latest GTS still offers plenty of performance. It drops the previous version's naturally aspirated V8 in favor of a tuned version of the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 from the Cayenne S for some added oomph. The tweaks bring power up to 440 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to rocket the model to 62 miles per hour in an estimated 5.2 seconds. The bump also equates to 20 hp and 39 lb-ft more than the current S and more importantly 20 hp and 62 lb-ft more than the previous GTS, according to Porsche.
In addition to the extra muscle, Porsche also decks the GTS out with some added features. It comes with a standard sport exhaust and Porsche Active Suspension Management system with an air suspension lets the chassis sit about three-quarters of an inch lower (20 millimeters). To bring things to a halt, the high-performance models also takes its brakes from the Turbo model.

Porsche announces works team for United Sportscar Championship

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Porsche is undoubtedly the most successful manufacturer in sportscar racing, and it's only upping its game. The German marque is launching its new LMP1 racer for Le Mans in pursuit of overall victory once again, and now that sportscar racing in North America is coming together under one banner in the United Sportscar Championship, Porsche has announced it is entering the fray with a works team here as well.
The new Porsche North America racing team will field two cars in the entire inaugural season of the Tudor United Sportscar Championship that's been formed out of the former Grand-Am and American Le Mans Series. The team will be based out of the Porsche Motorsport North America facility in Santa Ana, California, and will partner with three-time ALMS LMPC winners Core Autosport in getting a pair of the latest 911 RSR racecars to the front of the GT Le Mans class.
Drivers have yet to be announced, but are projected to be drawn out of Porsche's factory driver program, which includes such talents as Patrick Long, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani. Keep reading below for the official announcement.
