Amazing 1987 Porsche 928 s4. This car has the sought after 5-speed transmission. I have owned this car for the last 21 years. This car runs great and is in very good condition. The brown interior compliments the red exterior. The interior is in excellent condition. The exterior has a couple rock chips but nothing the pictures would show. Very minor but still worth mentioning. If you are looking at a 928 then you already know servicing these cars can be expensive. Recent service done.

Replaced engine electronic control unit, central information control unit, alignment and 4 new tires KUMHO ECSTA ASX---- $1967.00

New water pump timing belt and cam gears $2874.00

Plugs , wires ($450.00), dist caps, rotors. General tune up! $1679.00

Replaced the plastic undertray with an aluminum one and replaced hood and trunk shocks. $371.00 (parts only)

Replaced drivers side door handle hinge. (very common problem with 928's)

The above service was done within the last 2,000 miles.

The 928's were exceptional cars that were built to last along time. They were way ahead of their time when built. This particular car was purchased from Porsche and then driven with a touring pass in Germany before being shipped to the US by the first owner. Overall it's a great car with a lot of miles left to go. My reason for selling this fine automobile is the fact that it is not driven much anymore. It needs to be driven! The air conditioning is does not work. Also have another 1987 928 aviable with a black interior and an auto trans if interested. Car is aviable for inspection any questions e-mail or call 715-571-5333. Thanks for looking and Good Luck.

Hyundai, Porsche top J.D. Power APEAL study

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Just as they did in the Initial Quality Study, Porsche and Hyundai have taken the premium and non-premium crown, respectively, for the 2014 J.D. Power APEAL study. This is the tenth consecutive year for that Porsche has been rated the best premium make in the APEAL study, which attempts to figure out how pleased owners are with their purchases. For 2014, it asked 86,000 owners of MY2014 cars to rate their vehicles in 77 different categories 90 days after their initial purchase. The resulting figures were plugged in deliver the APEAL score, which is rated on a 1,000-point scale.
The industry average sits at 794 points for 2014, although that's a one-percent decline over last year's rating. In this year's study, premium brands averaged 840 out of 1,000, while non-premium makes average 785. For their part, Porsche netted an impressive 882 points, while Hyundai earned an 804. Interestingly, only four non-premium brands (Hyundai, Ram, Volkswagen and Mini) finished above the industry average for 2014.
It's also interesting to see the clear delineation between premium and non-premium brands, with an eight-point gap between the non-premium champ, Hyundai, and the lowest-rated premium brand, Volvo.

Meet the main man behind the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

We have yet to catch our breath from our first drive of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, but if you're still not sold on the fact that this track-ready 911 is only offered with a PDK transmission, then you should take it up with Andreas Preuninger. Preuninger is the guy who led the team responsible for the latest GT3. Porsche has released a video giving a little backstory of what went into the development of the car, which had as its goal the creation of a pure, rewarding 911 driving experience.
The video captures the sights and sounds of the GT3 perfectly. Perhaps the best part is listening to Preuninger describe one of the defining moments that resulted in replacing the GT3's manual gearbox with the PDK. We don't want to ruin the video for you, so scroll down to check it out for yourself.

Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach package does 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

Porsche marketers are having a field day with the 918 Spyder after some last-minute tuning improved the car's performance. They now say that it's so fast it's already beaten itself. Let us explain: Using a Weissach package-equipped 918 as an example (which reduces the plug-in hybrid supercar's weight through the deletion of some interior items, more generous use of carbon fiber and magnesium wheels), the car's previous official 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 2.8 seconds has been cut to 2.6. Additionally, 0-124 mph takes 7.2 seconds and 0-186 mph is dispatched in 19.9 seconds, times that were reduced by half a second and 2.1 seconds, respectively.
In all-electric mode, a non-Weissach pack 918 does 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds (with the package, 6.1 seconds), down from 6.9 seconds. Efficiency is also improved thanks to the final tuning. The New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) rating of a Weissach pack-equipped car equates to 94 miles per gallon, up three mpg compared to before. That's pretty good for a car with 887 horsepower!
Check out the press release below for more details on how Porsche's final tuning measures improved its flagship supercar.
