1977 Porsche 924 Martini & Rossi Edition on 2040-cars
Porter Ranch, California, United States
1977 Porsche 924 Martini & Rossi
Edition Up for auction is a very original Martini Edition 924. Porsche’s first limited edition 924 was the Martini Rossi. The cars were built from December 1976 till March 1977. It started selling in the spring of 1977. The car still has the original console plaque celebrating the victories of 69, 70, 71, and 76 Martini Rossi 935 and 936 racing cars. Only 2,000 examples made their way to the United States. Exterior: The exterior shows in good condition. The body is extremely straight. The car was re-painted in its original white and the factor Martini decals were replaced with a new set. The car is rust free. Floor pans and rocker panels all show in excellent condition. The car appears to be accident free. No signs of any collisions. Interior: The interior is all original with
exception to the red carpet which was replaced by the previous owner with black
carpet. Dash has cracks, center console missing a panel on the passenger side.
Original head liner shows in excellent conditions. Both original door panels
are in excellent shape. Driver side window does not close all the way (slight
gap, closes 95%). All seats are original and in need of reupholstering. The
trunk is in great condition. The hatch cover is in good condition and is fully functional. Mechanical: The car runs, drives and stops. The transmission
up and down shifts smooth with no grinds. The car has been in storage for some
time. New owner would be wise to do a major service and mount new tires before
regular road use. Other: The car comes with a Certificate of
Authenticity from Porsche. It holds a clean California Title in my name and is
currently registered Non-Op. It has original blue California Plates. To my knowledge
the car has always been in California. The car can be shown by appointment during the week after 5pm or on the weekends. I can be reached at (818) 642-5826 Payment/Shipping: I would like a 10% deposit no more than 24 hours after the auction ends. Deposit can be made through PayPal. The balance should be paid no more than 7 days after the auction ends. I accept wire transfer or bank/cashier check as method of payment for the balance. The car will not be released until it has been fully paid for. It is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping. The car is located in Northridge, CA 91326. This will be helpful when getting shipping quotes. I described the car as best as I could. I encourage you to look at all the pictures on the link below. http://s170.photobucket.com/user/juane30m3/library/1977%20Porsche%20924%20Martini%20Edition?sort=3&page=1 |

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.
Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo
Fri, 24 Jan 2014If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.
Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.
