I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS 2001 996 TURBO. IT HAS NEVER BEEN CRASHED, REPAIRED OR PAINTED. EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR THE UPGRADE TO 19" 997 TURBO WHEELS. THE P ZERO ROSSO'S ARE ALMOST NEW AS IS THE BATTERY. RECENTLY SERVICED AND ALWAYS COVERED AND GARAGED. ALL 15,000 MILES WERE PUT ON BY ME RUNNING UP THE WINE COUNTRY IN NAPA OR OUT TO THE COAST FOR THE DAY. THIS CAR HAS NEVER SEEN RAIN NOR HAS IT EVER SLEPT OUTSIDE. I BOUGHT IT FROM MY CORPORATION WHEN THE LEASE TERMED OUT BECAUSE I COULD NOT PART WITH IT IN 2006. NOW IT IS TIME TO MAKE ROOM FOR A GT3.
OPTIONS INCLUDE NAVIGATION, DIGITAL SOUND, CARBON WHEEL AND INTERIOR TRIM. THE NATURAL GRAY LEATHER LOOKS LIKE A SOFT FLAT BLACK IN MOST LIGHT. THE ACCOMPANYING PHOTOS WERE TAKEN ON A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY TO SHOW THE PERFECT BODY AND WHEELS. THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL TUMBLE WEED SCRATCH ON THE LEFT FRONT THAT DOES NOT SHOW UP IN PHOTOS BUT CAN BE BUFFED OUT. THE SEATS HAVE THE PORSCHE CREST MOLDED INTO THEM AND THE WHEEL CAPS ALSO HAVE THE PORSCHE CREST.
I AM NOT SHIPPING THE CAR FOR YOU SO YOU'LL NEED TO ARRANGE YOUR OWN SHIPPING OR PICK IT UP IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. I CAN SHOW THE CAR IN TIBURON OR SAUSALITO AS I LIVE IN BELVEDERE, CA. CALL FOR MORE INFO: 415-999-6848. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo
Fri, 24 Jan 2014If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.
The 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona: What we learned, what we saw
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Two days after the flag dropped on the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, people are still trying to figure out what it might portend for the rest of the season. In 24 hours, two minutes and 24 seconds, 695 laps were completed by the car that crossed the line first. During that time, 67 cars began the race, 18 of them retired. There was that accident, and a red flag. There were supposedly slower classes beating supposedly faster classes. There were 16 caution periods, including that yellow flag. And then there was The Decision. And Then The Uproar. And then The Reversal.
There was also some pretty good racing, so let's have one last look at the weekend. Oh, and there was that 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO Series II...
If you want to skip the reading bits and go to the photos, there's a high-res gallery of 158 images above and a couple more below. Enjoy.
2015 Porsche Macan Turbo
Mon, 24 Feb 2014I knew it was a softball question, but I asked it anyway. It's pretty standard for automakers to offer up some examples of competitors when they invite the media to drive a new vehicle for the first time. If not stated outright, it's just as standard for some journalist to query about the competitive set as soon as the Q&A begins. I knew full well that Porsche believes it has a valuable new niche to itself with the 2015 Macan (and especially with the Macan Turbo), but I wanted to hear the answer to the competitor cars question anyway.
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller didn't hesitate for a second to respond. With a half-smirk appropriate to an executive that is about to launch the (very probably) most profitable and best-selling product in his brand's lineup he chuckled, "Of course, I could be arrogant and say this car has no competitors..."
Arrogant? Well, the grinning Müller certainly didn't give off a humble vibe as he proceeded to count down a list of German and British utility vehicles from various classes that are clearly behind the pace of the Macan in either looks, luxury, or sporting prowess - Range Rover Sport, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK among them.
