Car Enthusiast Selling His Pride and Joy

Buying this car was a dream come true for me.  I absolutely love the car. There is not one thing that I would change about it.

....Well, maybe there's just one thing: I'd give it a bigger back seat! My family is growing and while I had two kids (currently 5 and 2), I was able to manage. But now that my wife and I had number three, I simply can't justify having the second car in the house be a 4 seater.

This is the ONLY reason why I've decided to put the car up for sale. There is nothing wrong with the car whatsoever. Runs very strong - and looks like it did the day it came out of the showroom 10 years ago.
Most people don't believe that the car is 10 years old... the paint (Factory Color: Seal Gray) looks fresh/glossy, the full black leather interior is in phenomenal condition... nothing about this car looks/feels 10 years old.

The full hood, front bumper, and fenders are covered with a 3M clear plastic film - which has held up extremely well.

There's not one single ding/dent anywhere on the vehicle.

There is a very slight (maybe a quarter inch long) scratch on the rear driver's side wheel. I did my best to show this in the pictures below.

The vehicle has never been in an accident. There has never been any paint/bodywork done to the car.

Included in the sale will be a winter set of tires/wheels. (Dunlop Winter Sports w/ 17" Turbo Twist wheels)

The previous owner installed an integrated K40 radar system. The sensors are built into the front bumper. I don't know how well this system works, I never use it. (As crazy as it may seem, I don't drive this car fast/hard. I literally bought it because I love the way it looks)

Boy, I'm going to miss this car. (sigh)

I drive this car to work everyday. Luckily, I only live about 7 miles from my office. While the current mileage is 44,636 - the actual mileage will be slightly higher at the time of sale.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Will answer everything to the best of my ability.
If you're not local and are willing to arrange payment, I'm happy to take the vehicle to my local Porsche dealership for a Pre-Purchase Inspection.

Willing to ship internationally - as long as funds have cleared and the winning bidder pays and makes all necessary arrangements for shipping. (Willing to drive the vehicle to a shipping facility within 50 miles of Ridgefield, CT)

Please note: I require a $2000 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the winning bid.

Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.

2014 Porsche Cayman S

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.

Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.
