Porsche 911 Carrera 2 on 2040-cars
Millcreek, Illinois, United States
**Pics of front lower bumper area is just wax, not scratches. Type in ismejia on flicker to see video. Not great but hope it helps.Updated 6/24: Forgot to mention that car has Steve Wong chip. This is a real nice common upgrade on 911's. Chip makes a considerable difference by reducing sub 4000 rpm lag and making vehicle more spirited. Also improved torque and throttle response. Please google 911 chips for more info. Description: Up for sale is my gorgeous example of a rare Slate Gray 964. I have documented service history and maintenance going back over 16 years. All body lines are straight, and she drives and pulls wonderfully. A/C is ice cold and all mechanical functions work as they should. Plenty of power in engine. Interior has no tears, rips, or odors and is all original except for head unit. I have original and functional Blaukpunkt stereo that came with vehicle. Please note that original stereo will be included with sale. My car was upgraded with lighter weight OEM Porsche Cup 2 wheels with professionally powder coated finish to last for years to come. Again, I have original wheels and will include with sale of car. Tires are Bridgestone Potenzas. They are newer and have 75-80% thread remaining. Cup 2 wheels are in fantastic condition with no scratches or curb rash. I invested almost $2k this past month on engine maintenance (all receipts will be given to new owner). New spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, and valve adjustments. Rear calipers were upgraded to bigger OEM Porsche calipers. These provide better overall braking and is a common, but expensive mod on these cars. Also, suspension was upgraded with Bilstein adjustable struts. Clutch was replaced by Porsche dealer at 30K miles. Dash is in good condition with no tears. Car has not been tracked or raced. Only high quality Brad Penn oil used. This is a Clean Carfax car. Drivetrain: Engine and transmission are in perfect working order. Transmission does not slip and it holds the power as it should, motor pulls very strong. Axle boots are in good condition, all wear components have been gone recently inspected. Brake pads are fairly new and have plenty of life left. Like I said, new plugs, valve cover gaskets and valve adjustment were done last week. A new Porsche OEM oil cooler was installed last week due to small leak. This is a dependable driver that needs a new home. I'm only selling due to family situation. Interior: Interior is all original and very nice. I am a non smoking owner. All original manuals and original keys come with the car. Additionally, car has complete and original tool kit. Only thing I miss-placed was original cigarette lighter knob. I have to look harder but I think it's in my garage somewhere. Exterior: The exterior is all original. It does have a few rock chips here and there. This should be expected from a 25 year old car with original paint. Sunroof functions perfectly, and there are absolutely no signs of rust anywhere. Overall the paint is very nice. I would rate it a 9/10. Air cooled 911's are harder and harder to find in this condition. Please look around and you will see what I'm talking about.

Porsche 918 Spyder officially priced from $845K, Weissach package $84K more
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Porsche has released official pricing for its entire lineup of 2013 models, which just happens to include the upcoming 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. The 795-horsepower advanced-technology-lab-on-wheels is now officially confirmed to have a starting price of $845,000 in the US, which is the exact amount we were told earlier when we had the opportunity to ride shotgun in some 918 Spyder pre-production test vehicles.
What we didn't know at the time was the cost of the Weissach trim package, which is a high-performance upgrade to the standard vehicle that includes the deletion of some interior amenities and addition of lighter-weight carbon fiber appointments, magnesium wheels, flame-resistant upholstery, racing belts and aerodynamic aids - it's meant for track-going folk who intend to use their 918 Spyders as God, country and manufacturer intended.
All told, the Weissach package should drop the 918 Spyder's curb weight by some 80 pounds, while also lightening your wallet of an additional $84,000 - the car's MSRP with the Weissach package is $929,000. These prices don't, however, include destination charges, which, for something like the very limited edition 918 Spyder (only 918 will be made), could very well cost considerably more than your average Porsche.
DP Motorsport tries to turn a vintage Porsche 911 into a sleeper
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Once you get past the fact that it's hard to call a car a sleeper when it has race-product stickers on its quarter panel, and the script across the back panel reads "Porsche 911 3.2 Sleeper," it's fun to imagine what this car can do. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Germany's DP Motorsport took a model from 1986, stripped it of everything - including the paint and undercoating - then replaced everything with lightweight and race-ready parts.
In went race cams and ported cylinder heads, a lightweight flywheel, an RSR titanium racing exhaust, 935-style lollipop seats and RSR carpeting, a lightweight battery, perforated and galvanized hinges and brackets, hardened perspex windows. The 3.2-liter engine puts out 270 horsepower - 70 hp above the stock 911 on sale here in 1986 - and 226 pound-feet of torque through a limited slip differential to staggered wheels. The exterior color is metallic rock-green lacquer.
If you want one, $120,00 is where the part starts, but DP Motorsport says it offers the parts individually if you don't need your vintage Porsche to sleep this hard. On a side note, for a chucklesome journey back in time, check out this review of the 1986 911 that gets things going with this line: "First off, the Porsche 911 is very expensive - how does about 40 thou grab you?" Back on topic, there's a press release below that tells the rest of the story of the 3.2 Sleeper.
A closer look at the 2015 Porsche Macan
Wed, 27 Nov 2013
He assured us that "this is a sports car."
Porsche took the wraps off its all-new 2015 Macan at the LA Auto Show last week, and while it's easy to write it off as just a badge-engineered version of the Audi Q5, you'd be very, very wrong. For starters, 75 percent of the car's platform was re-engineered by the Porsche team, and with a choice of two twin-turbocharged engines, the Macan should absolutely live up to the brand's pedigree.
