I am the original owner of this vehicle (non-smoker). The MSRP was $117,900. I purchased it in August of 2008. It has been extremely well cared for, always garaged and is in very good condition. I am selling it because I purchased another vehicle. Most of the miles were driven on the highway going to a summer house. All maintenance was performed by the local Porsche dealer and it is completely current. It recently received its majorservice consisting of oil and filter change, air filter change, cabin filter change, brake flush, replacement of front brakes and replacement of spark plugs and ignition coils ($3,800). It has all-season tires with 9/32nds of tread (i.e., less than 50% worn). The car is located in Greenwich, Connecticut and I have the title in-hand.  The specs are: Midnight Blue Metallic, Cabriolet roof - Metropol Blue, Sand Beige Full Leather, Power Seat Package, Tiptronic S, Self Dimming Mirrors, Heated Front Seats, 19" Carrera Classic Wheel, Wheel Caps with Colored Crest, Parking Assist System, Navigation Module for PCM, Bose High End Surround Package, iPod Connection (added after by dealer), Floor Mats and Carpet in deviating color matching exterior, Headlight Cleaner Cover Exterior Color, Leather Sun Visors Lighted Mirror, Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes. I have copies of all the service records, including the two $1,700 items listed on Carfax. A few pre-race notes and a lot of photos from the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

The 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on.
Audi has won 12 of the last 15 events, the scion of Auto Union is trying to make it 13 this year. To do so, it will have to overcome a situation faced only three other times during its dominance of La Sarthe: underdog status. Toyota has won the first two races of the year and claimed pole for this race, the rumor being that this year it's Toyota's race to lose.
And then there's Porsche. It's been 16 years since the Stuttgart brand raced on the top rung at Le Mans, three years years since it announced its return, just a year since it acquired Mark Webber in a signing that wasn't subtle and a few months since we got eyes on the 919 Hybrid.

All Porsche 911s to get turbos in 2015?

Sun, 19 Oct 2014

Currently, Porsche builds two turbocharged 911s - the Turbo and the Turbo S (and their cabriolet counterparts). The rest of the 911 range, meanwhile, is motivated by either 3.4- or 3.8-liter flat-sixes of varying outputs. This clear separation could be set to change in the very near future, though, as rumors continue to swirl that Porsche's rear-engined range could switch exclusively to turbocharged power.
This time, it's Car projecting that the 911 range will go turbocharged as part of a mid-cycle refresh, with the base Carrera's 3.4-liter dropping to 2.9 liters and adding an iron lung, bumping the entry level 911 up to 400 horsepower. Yes, a 400-horsepower, entry level 911. The Carrera S, meanwhile, will retain its 3.8-liter engine, but will also benefit from turbocharging, increasing output to 530 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque. So basically, it sounds like the current, 520-hp 911 Turbo will become the next Carrera S.
What does that mean for Porsche's traditional high-performance models? Well, it's a safe bet that the Turbo, Turbo S and eventual GT2 will be producing seriously huge power figures. Based on pure speculation, we wouldn't be shocked to see a 600-hp Turbo, with the S and GT2 increasing output markedly from there.

Porsche 911 GT3 dukes it out with MP4-12C on track and GT-R on spectacular roads

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been a favorite among auto journalists and car enthusiasts alike, but with the introduction of the new 991-generation GT3, which is the first GT3 with electric power steering and no manual gearbox option, how does it stack up to the competition from McLaren and Nissan?
Evo's Jethro Bovingdon attempts to answer that question by pitting the rear-engine Porsche against the mid-engine McLaren MP4-12C on a racetrack and the front-engine, all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R on some amazing, twisty European back roads. We won't give away the victor of either comparison, but we will say that, in Evo's test, the McLaren's 141-horsepower advantage doesn't give it as much of an edge over the Porsche on a racetrack as one might think, and the lack of a manual gearbox and the inclusion of electric power steering on the GT3 isn't detrimental to enjoying the car on a back road.
Watch the video below to find out which car Bovingdon prefers on road and track - we think you'll be happy to see him drift around turns every chance he gets.
