2011 Porsche 911 Carrera S Convertible 2-door 3.8l - Low Miles! Factory Warranty on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
Hello everyone! Offered for sale is my 2011 Porsche 911 Carrera S convertible. Finished in the striking colors of Meteor Grey Metallic over full red leather, few cars I've owned have garnered so many compliments. It really is beautiful. 385hp backed to a proper 6-speed manual trans makes this an amazing driver's car; fun, extremely responsive. And if you've never driven one of these manuals, you'd be surprised how easy daily traffic is to navigate. For instance, a gyroscope determines the incline the car is resting at during a full stop, and will maintain the brakes until you disengage the clutch, taking the pain in the a$$ out of hill starts. Just a really enjoyable experience. Put the top down and drive this summer!
This car is outfitted with numerous options: turbo wheels, climate control, power everything, blue tooth, sat nav, etc, etc; and has travelled only 20,500mi. Recent service at Beverly Hills Porsche completed, new battery last week with 3yr free replacement warranty, full Porsche Factory Warranty until May 2015, and a complete interior/exterior detail. She's ready to go! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to arrange an inspection or test drive. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, so please be sure it's what you want before bidding or making an offer. It is located in Los Angeles, and is being sold on a clean Arizona title in my name. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due via paypal 24 hours after the auction's close, with the remaining funds to be sent via wire transfer within 3 days - unless another arrangement has been agreed upon by me. Buyer is responsible for all applicable taxes and fees associated with title transfer, licensing, etc. If he or she wishes to ship the vehicle, I will assist with the shipper chosen, but arrangements and costs are solely the buyer's responsibility. I have represented this vehicle honestly, and although it is in excellent condition and under warranty, I am obliged to remind bidders that it is a used vehicle, and so not 'perfect.' But as close as you'll find in a 2011. Best of luck to all! |

Porsche Panamera gets new diesel in time for Frankfurt
Tue, 03 Sep 2013Diesel may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Porsche, but in the European market - that vital one which Porsche calls home - diesels are indispensable. Particularly when you're trying to extend beyond niche sports cars and into the mainstream luxury sedan market as Zuffenhausen has with the Panamera. In fact, diesels account for 15 percent of Panamera sales worldwide (even though they're not offered Stateside), so to keep oil-burning customers happy, Porsche has announced a series of upgrades.
Set to be unveiled in the flesh at the fast-approaching Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Panamera Diesel packs 300 horsepower. That's 50 hp (or 20 percent) more than the model it replaces, significantly dropping the 0-62 sprint from 6.8 seconds to 6 flat, and raising top speed from 152 miles per Autobahn-crunching hour to 161. While they were at it, Porsche's engineers also fitted the rear differential with torque vectoring (previously reserved for gasoline-burning models) and retuned the transmission and suspension.
You can delve into the press release below for all the details - including the new model's improved towing capacity! - but the reality, for better or worse, is that the Panamera Diesel isn't offered here. So if you've been celebrating Labor Day (or even Labour Day, for our friends to the north) like we have, don't go looking for it at your local dealer, who will have only a Cayenne Diesel to show you instead.
Race Recap: 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans defines 'endurance'
Mon, 16 Jun 2014Commenting on the rush of events that rocked beginning and end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Paul Truswell of Radio Le Mans said "the race is about the ability to endure, not just the ability of drivers to do what they do for a long time." The entire race machine, all the way down to the pit boards and radios, has to survive the stress and abuse of the entire day. This was the race to prove those words.
There were two Toyotas, two Porsches and three Audis, five of the seven led the race at some point, six of the seven ran in the top three. Toyota will be hugely disappointed that it didn't win when its car and drivers were so, so strong, but they gave Audi the kind of scare we haven't seen since the best of Peugeot's days, and Toyota did a better job of it even in the loss. Porsche blew away everyone's expectations, falling 3.5 hours short of a fairy tale ending that would have made Disney cry.
But Le Mans doesn't really do fairy tales. Well, not that fairy tale. Audi's Twitter handle during the event was #welcomechallenges. As usual, Le Mans answered for the entire field.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
