It has always been garaged and has never been driven in the rain or snow ... period. It's nearly in showroom condition. Included at no additional charge is a removable hard top that came with the car as a package deal. The top has been in storage since I bought the car and the top has minor scratches and one dent that occurred while in storage .. the car itself has zero scratches and dents. Please note that the interior is NOT gray as my photographs depict ... it's actually black ... about as black as black gets ... I guess I need to learn how to use my camera!"

The car has never been smoked in. I bought it in Chicago. It has no dents or scratches. The removable hard top was packaged with the car from the dealer so I had to buy it but I kept the top in storage all the time ,,, while the top was in storage someone put a small dent and a couple of minor scratches in the top but if you are like me the top will go directly back into storage and that should not matter to you. The car itself has zero dents or scratches. The car has zero damage history. I have been the only owner and only driver of the car. I only drove it only nice days ... not once in the rain ... and hardly ever in the winter and if I did the roads had to be clean and dry. I thought I would die owning this car and wanted to keep it perfect ... but my accountant says "SELL THE CAR!" because I seldom drive it thus the 5,112 miles. Please note that the interior is NOT gray as my photographs depict ... it's actually black ... about as black as black gets ... I guess I need to learn how to use my camera!

Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.

Petrolicious explores long-term living with Porsche's 914/6

Thu, 15 May 2014

After its last video starred none other than the spectacular Ferrari 250 GTO, where was there for the video team at Petrolicious to go? Certainly, in the realm of classics, there are only a few other vehicles that can match the badge and pedigree of the ultra-rare Ferrari. Maybe a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin DBR1? No, this latest video doesn't star either of those British icons. It stars an oft-misunderstood, occasionally derided entry from Germany's most sporting manufacturer - Porsche.
Yes, we've gone from a Ferrari 250 GTO to a Porsche 914/6. As is often the case with Petrolicious, though, the story told about the car by its owner are often more important than the make or model of car being highlighted. That's exactly the case here, as Jack Griffin talks about the 38 years he's spent with this particular Porsche.
Having been born into the Volkswagen fold and introduced to Porsche in the best way possible - behind the wheel of a 356 - Griffin has some interesting stories (including his attempt at running the 12 Hours of Sebring), and he knows a fair bit about some of the 914's attributes.

Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits

Wed, 15 May 2013

The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
